I can name a billion small budget white movies that dealt with real life social issues that made no money either. In fact, dozens of them are released every year.

What you need to ask yourself is why black people will come out to support Tyler Perry and his brand of c00nery to the tune of 55 million and then let Eve's Bayou flop with 15.

When the film has a universal message, like After Earth does, it will attract all audiences. Black and white. Unless it's a shytty movie.
