Bad Boys 2 made $280 million dollars world wide. Made $46 million it's first weekend. I'll wait for your excuse of why it's the exception to the rule.

The film premiered during black history month.

1. Newsflash: Jaden isn't the only person who can't/couldn't transition from child star to movie star. There are hundreds of kids who couldn't do the same. White kids.

2. You guys keep narrowing the playing field. Now it's "Sci-fi/Blockbusters". Seriously? That's a tough genre to crack to begin with. Fact is THIS sci-fi movie just wasn't any good. It would have sucked and flopped with Bradd Pitt and one of his white kids in the role. Or even one of his asian kids.

3. Ya'll nikkas are going to move around and pivot and change argument points and do whatever else it takes to fit your argument. Everything I post is met with a moving of the goal post.

Done arguing about this. Garbage movie got the fate it deserved. Flop status. The international reviews are coming in and they are all just as bad.

#1 . Jaden is only 14, he's STILL A Child star who's transitioning, it's going to take years before he's an Adult. It's odd how someone can "ACT" for 3 straight movies and now he can't "Act" anymore.

#2 . How many Summer Movies have a Black or Minority in the LEAD? There are going to be atleast 25 Blockbusters this summer and only 2-4 movies have minority in the LEAD. What does that say about Hollywood?

#3 . There doesn't need to be any goal post moved. The point is Tariq made some great points about Hollywood and how Blacks are treated on film. "After Earth" underperforming may or may not be a racial thing. It could just be a movie that didn't connect. But when you read the reviews you clearly see there is some hating going on especially with Jaden.

The last thing I'm going say is this. "After Earth" had to be one of the few if any Sci-Fi Blockbuster where Both of the Leads are Black. "Fast 6" also proved something about diversty. It's time for Hollywood to stop hiding behind racism to continue this lack of diversity in major films.

Dude spoke on a lot of real shyt in that video....on to the topic at hand I think its complicated. On one hand I predicted After Earth was gonna flop tho I don't get any satisfaction from that prediction coming true....I based my prediction mostly on M. Night and the fact the trailers didn't do it any favors. On the other hand theres no question that the outrage and hate against this movie has gone way far beyond what it deserves. Its sitting at fukkin 12% on RT. Am I supposed to believe this movie is on the same level as shyt like Epic Movie which can barely even be considered movies or worse than The fukking Happening which is at 17%? Nah there's def something deeper at play. He pretty much covered the possible reasons....the critics getting together to put Will in his place, people suddenly being all against Nepotism when Hollywood is run on nepotism :what:, the insane amount of hate Jaden and M Night get (alright M. Night deserves a lil bit but they act like he's Uwe Boll status :sadbron:).

I ain't gonna sit here and act like After Earth was a classic or anything...truthfully it was a 5-6 maybe 7 if u wanna get REAL generous. Would getting a fair rating have prevented it from flopping? Probably not....but that don't make it right to give it a 1 or 2/10 and shyt on it for reasons beyond the actual movie either

The "Bad Boys" franchise was the 1st Action Franchise to star Two Blacks in the Lead in Hollywood History. So Will have broken down barriers in Action and Sci-Fi when it comes to Black Cast/Leads.

damn, that dude just got owned with this line LOL

I wasnt trying to own him but if you're going to stand on an intellectual soapbox and demean people who listen to Tariq Nasheed because it lacks intellectualism while simultaneously being apart of Lil B's demonic task force cult whos sole purpose is to protect Lil B, what am i supposed to assume about this individual intellectually. I mean, Lil b has some ok songs but good heavens friend, dont be a Lil b stan and claim intellectual superiority over Tariq Nasheed fans.

Its so demonic, friend.

Gentrification is real. Sure. But it's not keeping white people out of the movie theater.

Bad Boys 2 made $280 million dollars world wide. Made $46 million it's first weekend. I'll wait for your excuse of why it's the exception to the rule.

Lets not act like Bad Boys 2 didnt get terrible reviews tho :rudy:

nikkas came out to see it anyway because it was Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the same damn movie

with promotion from Nelly was the hottest rapper at the time

and Diddy who was dropping exclusive Biggie songs on the soundtrack

:childplease:

how could it not do numbers?

So critics have praised Will's movies and performances in the past, but have now decided to gang up on him and unfairly bash him?

the thing about the pursuit of happyness is that its still a struggle movie...

it still has a element of fukked up 'ness that white folks like to see

the black character still has to come from the bottom to the top

the black character still had to get approval from his white superiors/supervisors

to get a job and ultimately rise up in society

and these are just some of the trademarks of racial dynamics that I remember...

because I haven't seen that movie in years...

and ofcourse that entire movie could fall under the category of "one n*gga at a time"

cause white folks will make exceptions and concede to the one "super n*gga"

Where will I ever find something like that?

the-pusuit-of-happyness.jpg

Worldwide: $307,077,295

Will Smith in the lead role? Check
Strong father? Check
Guiding Son? Check
Positive father character? Check
Positive role mode? Check
Black guy outperforming white guys? Check
Black guy succeeding? Check

Let me guess though. The reason it did well is because Will Smith is homeless for a portion of the movie? White people love seeing that right? :snoop:
All this is negated by the fact that his PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS was working for cacs and walking down the street clapping and crying about the achievement
