well i do kinda of agree with your viewpoint..i still think using after earth as an example is probably the dumbest thing ever..that movie was fukking horrible..the reason it failed was because it got trashed by critics..promo was horrendous and lets not forget people found out M N sham was involved and he was black listed pretty much for destroying one of hte most beloved cartoon franchies in recent memory..and you need to also understand that movies wether have black or white protaganist flop..that's just what happens..and damn never heard of the great debaters :ohhh:..i guess marketing and promo fukked up on that one..def gonna watch that now..

You saw it?

It is a documentary meant to inspire and educate black people, he shouldnt be so militant in getting more people to watch it only through purchase. If his only about the dollars let that be known because his not about sharing knowledge and uplifting positivity.

How are you supposed to make more documentaries if you don't get paid for it? Something like hidden colors isn't going to get that PBS money. I get where your coming from though, people will pay for what they want (jordans) and beg for what they need. (education)

black love, unity, and music
I stopped listening to Tariq Nasheed, when he made hidden colors 1 and 2 and told them to take it off youtube so people pay for it. So his about his dollars not spreading positivity and Knowledge.

There still no copy of hidden colors on the web, dude is militant in making sure you dont see it but isnt it against what he stands for ? fck tariq nasheed.

So your upset at the man because he doesn't wan't you to see his product for free. But your dumbass will happily go to the theatre and drop $25 for two tickets to some hollywood blockbuster nonsense.

Let me guess, your black right?

Oh here we go with this bullshyt. I'm not going down the Mowgli route. Have a good day Breh.

No offense, when you don't have a lineage in this country further back than yourself, its harder to see the views Tariq or many of the posters in here have about blacks and film industry or any other industry for that matter. You don't get to hear the stories first hand. I know many African immigrants and first generation African Americans and they sound very similar to you in regards to black issues in America.

Whites didn't support the other 2 white movies either? And how about Coach Carter and Remember the Titans?

Coach Carter made $80 million with a $30 million opening weekend. More than Cinderella Man (Oscar favorite!) and Transporter 2 and Miss Congeniality 2 and Fever Pitch

Please stop the self victimization shyt. That's one thing about being from the Northeast. We're not into that self victimization shyt.

brah dont claim cape verde and then try to group yourself with AA's who have ancestors who have a thorough history dealing with the racial conflict in this country. I'm east african myself and can relate to the black struggles of today but thats where it ends.

Also, are you really denying the prejudice in hollywood? Are you really that ignorant to deny the conscious decision to not show an uplifting image of minorities in this country? It would be foolish to believe that the low reviews of After Earth is solely based on the movie and not the underlying message behind it.
