I feel the same way about movies though. Eventually those big blockbuster movies will make it to streaming platforms, and end up in theaters less. It's just a matter of time.
They already experimented with that during the pandemic studios stopped it after theaters reopened and they realized movies make more money being exclusive to theaters then going to streaming.

Disney literally got sued multiple times for it because the actors lost out on pay from not being in the theaters lol

Even HBO Max rolled back their day 1 blockbuster movie strategy. None of that shyt landed, Godzilla, the matrix, Wonder Woman, etc.

GTAV been out 3 generations and they’re eating off microtransations to the point they don’t view it as good business to push out a new version.

RDR2 was arguably the game of the generation last gen and it died an early death due to their insistence on pushing a shytty RDO in hopes of monetizing micro transactions.

I know you don’t play sports games, but just in any 2k thread and it’s fairly clear the complaints about incomplete games and pay for play.

TTI is one of the more regressive publishers in the game solely because they’re entirely focused on squeezing every dollar they can out of you by forcing you to spend money to get the full experience.

Where's this energy for the $40 planes in Flight Sim?

Matter of fact, most of MS 1P are just live service MTX farms with Forza, Halo, Flight Sim, etc.

Pretty convenient with how they're the same ones pushing for subscription services.

Right, the only single player games coming to the service are games that were in production before they were acquired.

The budget is too high on these joints.

Even when movies on the old model hitting cable TV months to a year after being in theaters, cable is technically a subscription service too. Some joints make sense to go the sub route, but the big budget joints being on there day 1 isn't smart. Get all the retail sales first then when the sales drop off, put it on a sub service.

We not even talkin yet about how these sub services prices continue to rise....

but most publishers aren't in the situation the XBox division is in, where they're a part of a much, much larger company that can afford to play the long game of losing up front revenue to drive subscriptions.

That said, I'm not sure how sustainable the current model is, considering what they're spending on new studios. I can definitely see a future where the Gamepass tiers get realigned so some of the current features of Ultimate become the base tier, and some or all of the first party exclusives get included in a new higher cost tier.

Agree.

Yeah, and people forget cable providers/networks still have to PAY for those movies releasing from theaters, most are still bidding on them. Thats on top of cable service providers constantly raising prices over the years also. Thats why BET was showing Baby Boy for like 10 years non-stop

Everything cost money

Are you comparing cosmetic items to actual gameplay items? :pachaha:

Are you even on topic anymore? :pachaha:
