Exactly, it depends if she woulda fell off by now or taken a break from the music industry to live life under the radar. I've said that her death is what made her into an icon. For example, look at Mariah Carey, great singer but fell off. Not saying that Aaliyah would be on the same level, but we cant say for certain.

Mariah Carey has been a star since the early 90s (I think her debut was in 1990). Her and Mary J sold millions upon millions of albums and dominated in the 2000s. I wouldn't say she fell off; i'd say she aged and took a break from her career.
