Blame goes both ways. People can't blame RBG for not retiring but then not vote in 2014 or 2016 in order to either keep a Democratic Senate or Presidency. What did they think was going to happen? Also, the SC is a lifetime seat, so if she didn't want to retire, that decision was bad but it was her right. She didn't know that Obama would have been followed up by a President Trump. However, Democratic voters knew that was possibility in 2016 (including the fact that Scalia died that year and the whole Merrick Garland fiasco) and some were too lackadaisical in certain states & areas and either stayed home or voted 3rd party. Hillary stressed the importance of the Supreme Court and yet she was met with "Who cares? You can't force me to vote for you, Killary!" by some progressive voters. :manny:

Breh, you just spent the entirety of this quote post the bolded negating and providing bullet points of why you don't believe it.

:dead:

So voters knew Obama could be succeeded by Republican trash, but a Supreme Court Justice was oblivious to that possibility?

So you're saying you would be ok with this same scenario playing out if it were President Jeb Bush or Chris Christie filling the seat and not Trump?

Also, who are these people you keep claiming didn't vote but were so invested in the makeup of The Supreme Court? Cuz methinks these people may not be made of flesh and blood, but rather a thinner strawlike substance. I don't think many people who can't be bothered to vote are spending their hours pondering the what ifs of the judicial branch of government. I brought RBG's death up to one of my coworkers and the first thing out of her mouth was, and I quote, "Who's that?"

:what:

So now RBG refusing to retire is the fault of the voters??

I understand some of you posters are genetically engineered to tow the party line and defend their every move at every turn lest you turn to stone, but at least have the decency to not scrape the bottom of the barrell with your cheerleading.

Everybody and their mom's knew blaming the left was coming. It's written in your manuals and taught to you during orientation and training. That was expected.

But I gotta admit, I didn't see the "blame the electorate for not forcing a person holding an unelected position of power to relinquish said position" angle coming. :patrice:

That was a new one.
Who the fukk blamed the left in this thread?

you know honestly, i hope the repubs do it

if this is what it takes to kick the democrats in the ass and make them start playing like repubs, so be it :yeshrug: they can have the fukkin justice. who the dems can render irrelevant by packing and ending the filibuster

that quote from markey was an indicator. the dems will be out for blood to avenge this. and every step of the way they can justify it with "blame mcconnels hypocrisy"

Maybe if it was someone else, but I just can't see Biden doing that.

His whole persona is being a moderate who won't upset anybody too much. :francis:
