He wants another Superman origin movie but listening to random nobodies saying they got like 100 characters in the movie even though they already have an established world with active heroes and villains. Pachino thinks an origin movie is what makes fans care about a character when it comes to comic book movies, and a large reason why the DCEU failed. I and others are saying origin stories arent needed if you have top quality writing, especially for heroes like Superman, Batman, etc who have had their origin told a dozen times already.

I think it’s a problem of Hollywood only knowing how to do origin movies one way.

I mean Green Lantern’s origin looking like Spider-man vs the Last Samurai is because Imitating previous superheroes is more applicable than telling a story in a new way.

At NO point did I say they need to do a origin movie... GUNN said he is spending ZERO minutes on origin. I think even 15 minutes will be better than 0, and that the result of 0 minutes will be bad.

On top of that, cramming a shytload of characters in a movie with no background is also something that rarely ever works... He's doing that too


Therefore I'm arguing that he's about to fukk this up.. I then used about every comic book movie in history to make that point, and beyond 2-3 movies, I been spot on

You can't do an origin better than Snyder did in 'Man of Steel' and there were people who complained about that too. That whole opening was really well done.

Seems you dont know the definition of a casual. A casual isnt some random person in the world. Your 45 yo dad who has never cared to watch a comic book movie or consume any comic based media isnt a casual. A casual comic/comic movie fan would know the origins of someone like superman/spiderman/batman etc already.

Casuals wouldve looked at Guardians of the Galaxyand been like "who the fukk are these ppl". Just like with the Creature Commando shyt, casuals were like "dafuq is that?" While the more hardcore ppl were excited.

But lets go back in circles again

The Batman had no issue with not covering his origins and the casuals didnt have a problem with it. You know why?
1. Casuals already know his origin
2. This is the big one - The writing was good.
