We're at like 11.

There have been movies with origin stories that failed.

I saw Alec Baldwin get his powers in the Shadow.

Steel, Hulk, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, Fantastic Four, and Morbius all had origin stories.

No one bases their decison to see a movie or not on whether there is an origin story.

Has nothing to do with seeing his comeup and morso Joaquin putting on an amazing performance.

Some say Tom Holland is the best Spiderman and we didn't see him get bit by the spider.

We didn't see Keaton going through training but his portrayal is loved so much that DC hoped that his inclusion in the Flash would cover up the flaws of the movie.
We're at 11, damn near the amount of characters in Infinity War, and we're two years from it coming out, and it's the intro movie...

They just announced that the first three Holland's were his origin story and just now, with nobody knowing who he is and Aunt May dying, it's about to be the continue forward

Notice all the origin movies that sucked was long ago and not in the DCEU or MCU...

Again, they don't base their decisions... But if you pick a character, 9 times out of 10, their best movie is the origin one.. And it's not because "the origin" but moreso you get CONNECTED and CARE about the characters when you see the beginning.

Why is Keaton still loved so much? We saw him from inception.. We saw Joker kills his folks.. We saw why he does it. We see what fuels him... And even though he only got 2 movies out of 4 and they tanked that series and we got a better Batman series with Nolan.... They go right back to the origin character for most of us, to CONNECT and make us CARE.

Again.. This is story writing and character writing 101

Were those real reports or sites making clickbait?
Screenrant which is somewhat reputable only has like 10 characters so far.

Them having 100 characters wouldnt even make sense logistically/screentime wise.
Well shyt that's what I was saying... The posts were right here in this thread... And it wasn't no 10-15 on the posts... nikkas had the damn entire DCU in that bytch lol. Fans was asking him why so many people and he was going right along with it.

Maybe he's toned it down but that already is making my point.. Fans ALREADY like "damn, we want superman, not this random mash of character bullshyt."

Looking at the article, I dont see anything about 100 characters. That looks like he is responding to fans "concerns" about they 4-5 superhero characters that were announced at the time.
I put concerns in quotes because some of those "fans" with "concerns" may have been Snyder Cult nikkas just whining :yeshrug:

Also even in addressing so many characters, it makes sense
"We're entering a world where superheroes exist and have existed for quite a while," wrote Gunn. "They're a part of one side of his world just like Lois and Jimmy are a part of another." Although Superman was the first superhero created for the DC Comics universe, there have been multiple stories where he is not the original.
This is already a world where Superman seems to have been fighting crime for a year or two. So it makes sense we would have a number of established other heroes fighting crime and villains doing crimes. Just like in the Batman Catwoman was active already along with Penguin/Falcone. Riddler had already laid his foundation etc.

If you skipping the origin and already have superman as superman, you gonna need already established allies and adversaries :manny:

Major part and I've said such since day 1 of Batman vs Superman being a thing.. People love an origin story. They fukking love it. Even if they seen it, put a little spin on it, and they'll watch it every time. I mean we on Batman series 5 or 6, just in my lifetime, and we're waiting on a 7th version. Not even counting other media like TV and animation. People care about the beginning.

Every single DC series from 60s to MoS, had an origin to it. Every single time it was successful. The second they started chasing Marvel, by skipping the origins to get to their team up, they were doomed. They successfully went back and fixed it, but were too shook to try the team up again..

MoS was successful.. Skipped right to BvS. You didn't introduce Batman to new people. shyt you skipped his whole career. Same with WW. Same with Lex. Movie was seen as trash, everyone ALMOST suffered for it. Suicide Squad comes, origin, does great. WW origin, does great. JL, again, you got all these characters, you've done the origin of Superman and WW to this point. fukks them up again. Aquaman, origin, does great. Shazam, origin, does great. Birds of Prey, team up movie with a bunch of people you don't care about but one.. You see a pattern here?

By then they calling Gunn to get this shyt restarted... His first movie.. 100 characters and no origins...

Save this post

What's the comic movie that does that? When have we seen the first movie, not give you the origin of the characters (None as he says) and had people hooked?
I mean, your point has been so debunked in here I don't need to make a rebuttal. The Batman and Spiderman Homecoming were very successful movies and we didn't see the Wayne's die or uncle Ben die. It is not a necessity for super known entities like Spiderman, Batman, and Superman. I don't think we need it for Wonder Woman anymore either.

If you're as known in the culture as much as Wolverine or up, spare me the 90 minutes of shyt we have already seen. Their origins and why we connect with them is already written in stone in the culture.

They just announced that the first three Holland's were his origin story and just now, with nobody knowing who he is and Aunt May dying, it's about to be the continue forward
So does showing the origin matter or does the studios declaring it an origin story after he’s made seven appearances after the character matter?

His origin is he was bit by a spider and his uncle dying pushing him to fight crime. That wasn’t shown.

Aunt May never married... There is no Uncle in this version. He is now going to be doing local crime threats instead of city levelling shyt.. Only thing missing was the spider bite

But lets say it's not... They did the first one... Second one was when the fall off started... What they do? Go grab all the characters they could cram into the third one cause we already had their origin stories so they could skip those parts.. Then in the end, made it into current spidey's origin story by having his Aunt die and give the Uncle's line that we all remember from the OG origin story

Anyways Miles is the best Spider-Man.... Origin story

Breh.

It was his origin story, except it didn't take place until his 7th movie and the origin was changed and it wasn't declared his origin until after all the movies came out. :heh:

You mean like he was doing when Iron Man recruited him in Civil War, because he was already Spiderman?:unimpressed:
