Right because sadistic killers in a comic need a pg 13 when translated to screen....fukk outta here

There is a reason deadpool did so well

Throw in the fact that Leto and the director both mentioned their thoughts on if it was rated R
deadpool was nowhere near the budget of SS....swap budgets and deadpool would be pg-13 too...nobody makes 100mil dollar r rated movies breh

Saw this on Monday and fukk the critics the movie was solid. Perfect? No but enjoyable. They could've had a better villain but that wasn't bad enough to trash the film. Making Joker (he's no Heath but the gangster/kingpin angle was cool) the villain would've turned it into a Batman movie with the SS as the help.

Thats a leadership and production issue

deadpool was rated r not because of th \e budget, it was because of the producers fought for that direction
The film makers sacrificed budget for the R rating. They go hand in hand.

If they dug their heels in said we want 150 million budget fox wouldn't green light it.

yea and because of the r rating they gave the movie a modest to low budget and thats why every action scene was shown in the trailer. Plus ryan reynolds was the only star in the movie. SS gets that budget and u dont have will smith or margot robbie (the main ones ppl are praising) and u dont get viola most likely or ayers. Which would've meant the script woulda had to been on deadpool level also and this shyt was nowhere near that even with the budget

Ok...I enjoyed this more than that Green Lantern garbage, any incarnation of the trash they call Fantastic 4, and any of the Thor or Iron Man movies (2 dudes I never really cared for when they were solo when I read comics as a kid).

But my problem is that the story telling was confusing. To me and the honey I was with. My question is this: I was under the assumption that Task Force X was gathered up to fight a very specific threat. Yet the main antagonist was a broad on the team...that they just formed! They were all locked up already so what was the purpose in gathering them together if there was no mission?? Well there was when the witch bytch flipped out I guess. But yall signed her up...with a BS way to control her...and I didn't get the part where Waller was like she wanted Flagg and the chick that was the host for the enchantress to fall in love....word? Why? Was she supposed to be dikk-whipped? I guess that plan aint really work out too good.

So El Diablo killed his fam and was tired of violence and fighting. Yet all it took was a lil rah rah-ish "come on baby! we need you in the game!" mini pep talk from Will and next thing you know he's frying everything in sight. :francis: He didn't even know Will or any of them like that to start using his powers again...especially if the reason you stopped was cuz you killed your own damn kids!

I don't even remember what was in that file that pissed everybody off. I mean you mufukkas are inmates forced to work for the gov't with chips in your head that will explode if you buck. And yall already knew that. What's worse than that? And why was Kitana pissed too?

I think Heath set the bar too high for anybody playing the Joker after him. Heath made us forget Jack. Leto made us miss Heath more. Not that he was bad or wack....IMO Heath still owns that role until further notice.

I wanna see it again so see if it's better a 2nd time around. (IM2 was for me :ehh:). I'll see a sequel too.

:ohhh: I liked BvS :dame:
To take down meta-humans like Superman. Enchantress going rogue sped things up so they weren't able to train and become an actual team before being sent on a mission

It's putting up historic numbers that we've never seen for a blockbuster in August. Even Adjusted for Inflation, "Suicide Squad" is still the biggest August Opener by over 30 Million. Those numbers for Monday and Tuesday were insane because August isn't the strongest month for summer films. Check out the Top 10 August Openers:

1 Suicide Squad WB $133,682,248 83.0% 4,255 $31,418 $161,087,183 8/5/16
2 Guardians of the Galaxy BV $94,320,883 28.3% 4,080 $23,118 $333,176,600 8/1/14
3 The Bourne Ultimatum Uni. $69,283,690 30.5% 3,660 $18,929 $227,471,070 8/3/07
4 Rush Hour 2 NL $67,408,222 29.8% 3,118 $21,619 $226,164,286 8/3/01
5 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) Par. $65,575,105 34.3% 3,845 $17,055 $191,204,754 8/8/14
6 Straight Outta Compton Uni. $60,200,180 37.3% 2,757 $21,835 $161,197,785 8/14/15
7 Signs BV $60,117,080 26.4% 3,264 $18,418 $227,966,634 8/2/02
8 Rise of the Planet of the Apes Fox $54,806,191 31.0% 3,648 $15,024 $176,760,185 8/5/11
9 G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Par. $54,713,046 36.4% 4,007 $13,654 $150,201,498 8/7/09
10 Rush Hour 3 NL $49,100,158 35.0% 3,778 $12,996 $140,125,968 8/10/07

As you can see, August is basically the weakest summer month at the box office. May, June and July always spit hot fire, even though this summer was lackbuster. You still had Civil War in May. You had Finding Dory in June, You had Serect Life of Pets in July and now you have Suicide Squad in August. Wow at Bourne 3 holding the August record for 7 years. Rush Hour 2 held the August Record for 6 years. Guardians only held it for 2 years. I have a feeling Suicide Squads record will stand unless they drop the sequel in August.

Now the 2nd Week hold is the true test. As we saw, BatsVSupes didn't hold very well and ended up with only a 1.99x Multiplier (In Box Office Lingo that means that it only made 2x it's opening weekend). If "Suicide Squad" has the same mutiplier as BatsVSupes then it's final Domestic Gross will be 266. If it does Guardians numbers than it's final domestic gross will be 400 Million. Right now by the end of the weekend it should be at 240-250 domestic so I think this is going to have better legs than expected.

Suicide Squad Box Office Records:
*Biggest Previews/Midnights August
*Biggest Friday Ever August
*Biggest Opening Weekend Ever August
*Biggest Opening Weekend Ever Adjusted for Inflation August
*Biggest Monday Ever August
*Biggest Tuesday Ever August

Thats a leadership and production issue

deadpool was rated r not because of th \e budget, it was because of the producers fought for that direction

The film makers sacrificed budget for the R rating. They go hand in hand.

If they dug their heels in said we want 150 million budget fox wouldn't green light it.
http://io9.gizmodo.com/the-makers-of-deadpool-had-to-slash-7-million-from-the-1758147495

Mere days before the film was set to get an official green light, the writers, director and producers sat down with 20th Century Fox executives, and were given a near impossible task.

“We had to carve something like $7-8 million out of the budget in a 48-hour window,” Reese told io9. “And we, as a group, just put our heads together, got creative, and said ‘How do we cut what is essentially nine pages out of a 110 page script?’”
“Angel Dust, played by Gina Carano, used to be three different characters,” Reese explained. “It was Garrison Kane, Sluggo and Wire. There was a reduction of action. We had a motorcycle chase between Deadpool and Ajax on the freeway that we took out. We had a big, big gun fight in the third act that we took out and we basically had Deadpool forget his guns as a means of getting around it. So there were just reductions.”
But in the end, Reese and Wernick felt like that $7 million reduction was really what brought the movie together.

“It was that last, lean and mean chop that got us to a place where Fox was willing to make it,”
They had to cut the budget and a bunch of shyt from the script just to get the green light as a rated R film.

Maybe I'm in the minority but deadpool as a film is overrated as fukk.

Yes it was funny and yes ryan was incredible but the film itself was very mediocre.

It's supposed to be a satire of the comic genre but instead of inverting all the tropes it just follows all the exact same tropes.
Deadpool was fukkin :trash:

Everybody rating it highly cause "OMG ITS RATED R, ALL THIS BLOOD... OH HE SAID fukk... Hee hee hee so funny"

Id watch SS 3 more times over that overrated trash
