Id say a 7/10. It's definitely not as good as Iron man 1, Avengers 1, Winter soldier, or Avengers 3

I would say that every issue people claim to have with this movie was present in Age of Ultron yet no one treats that movie like it came to their house and throat punched their mother.

When that report that said Ayer had 6 weeks to complete the script, i actually beleive that to be the case after seeing Enchantress, whole character motivation and plan looked like it was devised in like 1 afternoon. Would have been okay if the action was cool, but that final battle was

Whats crazy is all he had to do was adapt either the Assault on Arkham movie or one of the over 100 hundred cool ass Suicide Squad stories from the comics if he was under the gun to get a script in quickly.

The Enchantress didn't have any character. When people talk about her motivations, they mean that they weren't fleshed out in a way that added to her character.

She didn't work as a narrative villain or a force of nature villain. She was pretty much a walking plot device. She didn't have any real connection to our heroes or anything so the stakes didn't feel legit plus her power set was extremely wonky.

I will give you that Enchantress could have stood to be more fleshed out as a character and that she was a walking talking plot device with unquantifiable powers but none of that changes the fact that her motivation was explained clear as fukk in this movie.

Her motivation was definitely explained but what exactly she wanted to do and why it manifested itself in the way it did and what her ultimate endgame was, left a lot to be desired. They've got to draw these villains better and make it so that their machinations are easily understood.

Still wondering why they didn't give Enchantress brother a name, and how Waller kept her brother just out in the open in her closet.

From the comics his name is Incubus and he was listed in the movie credits as such...not sure why they never had Enchantress use his name though.

Sadly that is pretty much standard for nearly every comic book movie villain.

Just saw this. 5/10. The first 2/3 of the movie are a mix of equal good and bad parts, with the performances making it a positive experience. The last third of the movie is terrible.
I liked the tone of this, it was a comic book movie to the core which is great and it had some really good performances. But really I think the Enchantress singlehandedly brought this movie down from being a mediocre but positive experience to a mediocre bad one.
Actually if you cut her and Rick Flagg out of this movie, make the Joker the bad guy trying to do something of lower stakes than what the Enchantress was doing. Even adding a conflict for Harley of completing the mission sticking with the Squad or riding with Joker this would have been a good movie.

1 & 2, sure.....but what that had to do with her brother, her abilities, her plan, etc was a garbled mess.

What they wanted was pretty straightforward....kill everyboxy and take over the planet

Again..this is dumb because Rotten Tomatoes is an AGGREGATE site meaning it can't be bias against anything seeing as who it collects the opinions of critics, much like metacritic or any other aggregate site. This whole thing is dumb on that basis alone in that its being argued by people who seemingly don't understand the way an aggregate site works or even what an aggregate site is.

All of the critics who don't like a movie or love a movie would still exist whether they're opinions are tabulated in one spot another. So if its not Rotten Tomatoes, it'll be another site and if not that site it would be something else.
