I disagree. At most I'll say it's even, but 96/97 Jay is up there with 96 Nas as the best rapper I've ever heard in my life.
this, then we got nikkas in here derailing the thread saying nas impacted the culture recently because they heard spicy (a song that never charted) once during the nba playoffs![]()
If Drake didn’t die after Take Care, Kendrick and Cole would never have been this successful...oh, waitI would say Reasonable Doubt Jay was damn near if not more lyrically potent than Biggie. But Biggie was just the better overall emcee at the time. He had the "it" factor when he rapped. Also this is for the people who tried to tell me Pac and Biggie death didn't affect anything. Anyone who was around would dispute that shyt.
It is what it is though. We can’t assume what he would or wouldn’t have made. Biggie could have completely fallen off after seeing major success, he wouldn’t rushed been the first rapper to do so. We got no clue what would have came later. You're doing too much. BIG died in the 90's so we dont know what range BIG could have gone as years passsed. Nas had the 2000's 2010s and 2020's to flex his range. Comparing the 2 when one had decades to expand his range and one only had 3 years doesn't make sense.
I'm confused with what ur saying. This aint no knock against Jay. But it's facts the entire game changed after Pac and Biggie's deaths there's literally no disputing it.If Drake didn’t die after Take Care, Kendrick and Cole would never have been this successful...oh, wait. Yes, the deaths of the two biggest acts in the genre obviously had an effect. But whatever that effect is/was is not quantifiable and I only see that effect ever used towards one person. There are so many more pressing things that I'd theorize over if those two were alive as opposed to the possible success or lack thereof of another rapper. Imagine busting your ass going on three decades and your success is merely because a nikka died

He also had one of the dopest voices and deliveries ever too.Biggie had the greatest flow of all time but Jay was better lyrically.
Much as I Love Biggie, he didnt even have the best verse in the song. Bizzy and Krayzie got him.Notorious Thugs >>>
Styles P not even on Memphis Bleek level so he can shut the fukk up
