The reason why people kind of get slick over Austin walking out is that when you THINK about it...Rock did jobs on television and it did no damage to him. All he needed was a mic the next show and he would bury the L and the guy who did it..I still don't believe that the plan was for Steve Austin to lose CLEAN to a guy who had been there for like 3 months. Doesn't sound believable. It almost took a mass conspiracy for Austin to lose as heel or face during that run.

Rock's character is the only one of his kind in history though. nikka stayed taking the in-ring Ls but it never mattered.

We can only go by the dirtsheets, so that's all I've heard over the years. Not really unbelievable if you look at Brock's career.... He beat the shyt outta Taker, Hogan and Rock. Given Austin's position at the time (on the downside of his career) I wouldn't put it past them. Only thing that has the :rudy: is losing cleanly on Raw. If that's the case, he definitely should have made a fuss. Don't support walking out though.

When has Austin ever lost clean on television? The closest thing was RVD the previous October and by Angle or Rock distraction and then he got rolled up. Something like that..that was about it. He got the win right back at No Mercy 01 anyway.

Can't recall it ever. That's what I'm saying. If the hypothetical loss to Lesnar was gonna be on free TV like the dirtsheets said, Austin definitely should have made a big deal out of it.

It could have been a money feud even if it only spanned 1-2 PPVs

Reasons Austin is Overrated

1.) Austin was not a GOAT heel like Macho man, Hogan and The Rock

2.) Austin was elite for 3 years when other guys like Macho Man, Hogan, and Flair were for much longer

3.) Austin got lucky to make it big, if it wasn't for the KLIQ having fun out there and Triple H getting punished Austin wouldn't have gotten a big push.

4.) When Austin was out and The Rock was the guy the wwf got it's highest ratings EVER

5.) Austin took his ball and went home. The GOAT don't do that.

Whos trash ass alias is this? I'm tired of you pussies hiding. Say this shyt under your real username. Judging by your praise of the rock I would make an accusation but I'd rather not derail this awful thread

Thats kind of an ego thing. Of course it could make money. Rock and Austin vs NwO shouldn't have happened with a clean decision if one has to reach that far.

I knew yall would be mad but I didn't think u would be this mad lol I guess some can't handle the Stone Cold TRUTH

Austin taking his ball and going home was more then not wanting to put over Lesnar he was upset The Rock was main eventing with Hogan and he was on the undercard. Austin was stale at that point he wasn't the top dog like he was so they went with the bigger draw The Rock.

The WWF wanted to push Lesnar and make him a star fast so they wanted to put him over Austin. At that point Lesnar vs Austin wasn't a big money match because Lesnar was not an established star yet. What is wrong with having a big match on Raw? The WWF wanted to put over Lesnar and more people would see it on Raw. Austin should've put him over and by taking his ball and going home he hurt his legacy.

When you compare their WHOLE CAREERS Austin's does not match up with Hogan's, Macho Man's, and Ric Flair's

List of GOATS by historical impact:

1. Hogan (all time top face, all time top heel)
2. Austin (arguably all time top face)
3. The Rock

List of GOATS by in-ring performance:

1. HBK

Austin quit there's a difference. Also every top guy screws people over with his politics backstage not just Hogan. Austin was crying about the NWO when they first reunited so they had to break them up at Mania when they were over and could've had a good run.

At his peak Austin was better than anybody

But his stone cold character didn't have longevity

And towards the end he was embarrassingly bad and became a parody

Exactly. People won't admit this tho because they let nostalgia block the truth. He had one of the best runs ever but it was only 3 YEARS IN A 15 YEAR CAREER. He got hot at the right time. His skit of coming out giving the bird and giving someone a stunner and drinking a beer got old after we seen it for the 1000th time and when he tried to switch it up he couldn't.
