There were lots of versions, but my CD had Everybody’s Crazy and the original version of No Idea’s Original as bonus tracks.
I’m late but this right here. It got 5 mics in The Source and people were loving it as soon as the intro kicked in.
Stillmatic was even highly respected and enjoyed by hardcore Jay fans.
Stillmatic helped solidify Nas at legendary status after many had written him off, no pun intended.
it only got 5 mics because they just gave 5 to the blueprint and didnt want to put one rapper over the other.
nas was already legendary. stillmatic saved his career. he'd prolly still be top 10 status if he was done after the '90s. just alot less money to show for it.
every black male 25 and under needs to study that track and put down the NBA DumbboyIt's probably his second best album overall. What Goes Around is my favorite track.
That's a myth.
Even the compilation album that featured his worst song went platinum.
Now creatively...perhaps.
im not sure what youre referring to.
qbs finest?? did not go platinum. it never even cracked the top 50.
oochie wally is supposed to be his worst song?? i mean, he had the weakest verse, but that song was big and the compilation was a flop before it became a single.
Ether and stillmatic saved him bro.
and i liked qb's finest, btw. people slept on it.
I stand corrected but it wasnt a flop. Its certified gold. I own it and like it too for the deeper cuts. I hate Oochie Walley.
Yes. Ether and Stillmatic revitalized him creatively. I alluded to that. It deserved the 5 mics it received. It wasnt politics.
Ultimately, that speaks more about Nas's ability. Just needed a little inspiration. He didn't get buried like P.
it was indeed a flop before they made "oochie wally" into a single. it wouldve went nowhere near gold if it wasnt for oochie wally.
an iirc, it debuted at like #91 on the charts. it became a heatseeker on the charts months later off the back of oochie wally.
it wasnt so much about being revitalized creatively. the fact of the matter is that he didnt have much of a buzz, and if Ether didnt boost his status back up, i dont know how well stillmatic wouldve performed. he also doesnt get 5 mics if jay doesnt get 5 for blueprint.
