the ether
474 three's made for Chris jackson at a 35.4% clip
Not from the modern line.

The only period that he did decent from the 3pt line were 95/96/97, when the NBA shortened the line to just 22 feet cause everyone was shooting like shyt. Both before and after that period he was a poor 3pt shooter.

176 threes at a 31% clip in 6 seasons with the 23.5-foot 3pt line
298 threes at a 39% clip in 3 seasons with the 22-foot 3pt line

You can't claim someone was just as good as Steph when he needed the 3pt line closer to the hoop to make them and still wasn't hitting even close to Steph's rate. Not to mention that Steph is the most closely-guarded player in the NBA while defenders weren't even hardly guarding guys at the 3pt line in the 1990s.

Everyone who says that Russ gets triple-double cause he "goes hard all the time", was he not going as hard his first 7 years? Cause he wasn't anywhere close to his current averages.

And does that count the defensive end? Cause if you think Russ goes all-out on defense where he can't accumulate triple-double stats...

Back in the day Russ had a coach who publicly called him out for chasing triple-doubles, even tho he wasn't doing it 1/10th as much as he does now. And on Houston the team was in contention so he wasn't allowed to do it as much there either. He's been caught literally telling the box score guys to award him rebounds. It's no surprise that he's only allowed to statpad on teams with nothing big to play for. Shouldn't that tell us something?

I remember him getting benched at the end of closes playoff game for Eric Maynor because of this reason, and OKC would still end up winning those games in spite of his benching.

The entire league knows what Russ is about.

Can't blame Russ for chasing stats when the media and fans of certain players use stats as their go to for why one player is better than the other. Clearly it matters financially as he triple doubled his way to one hell of a contract. nikkas need to stop dikkriding stats as their argument point and this won't happen, pretty simple. Steph is a bit more impressive btw. :yeshrug:

But no one has done what Steph does literally ever. :gucci:

Do you really believe that Bron couldn't have averaged 2 more rebounds/game last year for a triple-double if he asked AD/Dwight/McGee to box out for him and let him have the easy ones the way Russ's bigs do? :usure:
James harden had the most 3’s in a month

buddy got the most to start a career

dame & Klay could heat up too

there is literally no one getting 20 20 20 lol

Never understood why rebounds were impressive stats

you just stand there and wait for some incompetent shooter to miss and the ball comes to you
They are damned important. Especially in close games.
But how important are they, exactly?

If you were to list every single action during a game, where would they rank? And what is more important, sticking to your defensive assignment and boxing out, or gravitating towards the paint during a defensive possession to wait for a rebound opportunity?

I agree for the most part. Contested rebounds are the main thing that matter, and offensive rebounds are the best measure we have that I know of. Wtf kind of value is a rebound off of a free throw when everyone else is getting back on d?
And this is why rebounds (in general) should cease to be recorded, as should every other stat in the traditional box score. They're essentially a red herring; misleading everyone on what has importance and impact. I've said this for years and years now, and yet everyone still argues about these meaningless stats. What's even worse they're going against what they're watching, because if you're actually pay attention to what happens during a game, you'd know that box score stats don't even begin to paint an accurate picture of what's going on.

Basketball discourse will never be able to progress as along as box score stats are in rotation.

Most impressive part - Russ had lost 20 of the last 27 playoff games he's played in, dating back to before his first triple double season. In that time he's played with Harden, PG13, Carmelo, Oladipo, and KD, and yet he hasn't win more than 2 games in ANY playoff series since 2016.

I'll never forget him in the playoffs...in the clutch...completely ignoring his man to wait for the rebound the entire possession, costing his team the game.

What kind of fukking defensive stance is "hands on your knees, standing in empty space, facing the rim, not looking at the player you're guarding"?

At least he got his triple-double, right?

And none of them have rings besides KD who had to join the team that eliminated his the season prior . :yeshrug:
