This is NOT a thread comparing steph and russ directly to each other in terms of who's better.

This is NOT a thread comparing the team success of steph and russ.

This is simply a thread talking about the playing styles and which do you prefer to see as a fan.

Steph is the greatest 3pt shooter/shooter ever in the league no denying that. His shot changed the game and it has spread the floor and has called for even a 4pt shot to be added to the league. Steph has god fathered players like Dame, Trey, etc.. shooting regularly from the logo every game and has changed the style of play for every team in the league.

Westbrook is on pace to break a record in triple doubles we never thought would be broken because of the extreme difficulty in reaching those numbers consistently game in and game out. What russ is doing as a 6'4 point guard routinely grabbing 10+ rebounds a game (Even if he steals them) is impressive and mindblown at the same time. The only players in the league that can potentially replicate russ triple doubles are harden, lebron and luka the cream of the crop.

Steph is probably going to make over 4000 3pt shots in his career while russ will probably have over 300 triple doubles when it's all said and done assuming health. We can guess someone can challenge stephs record, but what about westbrook and his triple double record

I like this ?

Hard to choose....

I find i like GS free flowing game...

So I guess Steph but Russ is a BEAST

Because he playing with garbage. Without Curry, they were the worst team in the nba last season.

It’s not the same roster now, but they don’t make the postseason without Curry.
so why folks keep attributing gsw's run of success to an individual when it's being proven it's about the sum total of a franchise clicking¿*

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
shyt makes zero sense, Big O won a chip avg a triple double

No he didn't...:russ:

The one year Oscar won a championship he averaged 19/6/7, and was able to assimilate into a more suitable role as a #2 without the pressure of having to score all the points...

O's only triple double season was in Y2 and he was a first round out. Cumulatively he averaged a triple double for his first 6 years in The League, 30.4/10/10.7----->in those six years he did get the Royals to two ECF and the playoffs five times...

Its actually pretty apt that Westbrook is compared directly to Oscar, Russ is at 26/10.3/10 for his last five seasons, and his team has only made it past Rd1 once and likely won't get outta there this year. I have a feeling these two are really similar styles of player but thats the problem I have with how overrated Robertson became, the man himself said he never even heard the term "triple double" until the 80s so he gets a ton of credit in retrospect for something that wasn't even tallied in his era, in lieu of his overall body of work. Triple double shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes to dude, it wasn't an actual thing...

Your team can't win a title with either Oscar Robertson or Russell Westbrook as your best player...

No one attributed the run of success to Curry.

But Curry was the best player on the team, and we boost up the superstar players. This is the NBA.

And Steph did things no one had ever done and changed the game...

But can't we appreciate both?
Would love to. Except there's alot of people that don't appreciate russ

People saying ah rebounds, as if there isn't multiple videos of him hustling over plenty of teams to get the rebound.

Also he still averaged 20+ and 10+ assists a game for 4 years

TYRONE GA!
Not from the modern line.

The only period that he did decent from the 3pt line were 95/96/97, when the NBA shortened the line to just 22 feet cause everyone was shooting like shyt. Both before and after that period he was a poor 3pt shooter.

176 threes at a 31% clip in 6 seasons with the 23.5-foot 3pt line
298 threes at a 39% clip in 3 seasons with the 22-foot 3pt line

You can't claim someone was just as good as Steph when he needed the 3pt line closer to the hoop to make them and still wasn't hitting even close to Steph's rate. Not to mention that Steph is the most closely-guarded player in the NBA while defenders weren't even hardly guarding guys at the 3pt line in the 1990s.

Why I respect Curry more is simple,

It’s because Westbrook’s triple doubles are due to him out hustling teams and trying for triple doubles deliberately even if the team doesn’t need it

currys 3s are because of skill and he literally needs to score a lot for his team to win

if you told someone in the nba go out and get a triple double I think a few dozen nba players could do it any given night

but if you said go hit 8-10 threes any given night only a few could.

ATL - Cleveland Ave.
But no one has done what Steph does literally ever. :gucci:

Do you really believe that Bron couldn't have averaged 2 more rebounds/game last year for a triple-double if he asked AD/Dwight/McGee to box out for him and let him have the easy ones the way Russ's bigs do? :usure:
Bron has never averaged more than 9 rebounds in his career. He only got his first assist title last year. That was also his first time averaging more than 10 assists.

folks still bring up that gsw run in convos comparing other players individual accomplishments

bring up a player like brodie folks gonna be on some oh he ain't got no rings shyte quick

but that's not what the convo is about it's about individual effort

& what brodie is doing is some one of one shyte
