Most impressive part - Russ had lost 20 of the last 27 playoff games he's played in, dating back to before his first triple double season. In that time he's played with Harden, PG13, Carmelo, Oladipo, and KD, and yet he hasn't win more than 2 games in ANY playoff series since 2016.

I'll never forget him in the playoffs...in the clutch...completely ignoring his man to wait for the rebound the entire possession, costing his team the game.

What kind of fukking defensive stance is "hands on your knees, standing in empty space, facing the rim, not looking at the player you're guarding"?

At least he got his triple-double, right?

if big men were in the paint boxing out instead of standing around the 3pt line russ wouldn't be getting any triple doubles. rebound numbers are far more attainable for guards now.
Steph would be knocking down threes in any era though. more impressive to me

If that was the case why aren't other guards getting rebounds like Russ is.

I would have to say Westbrook's is more impressive.

4 triple double seasons :manny:

I could see if it were just one or two. Nobody has done it since Oscar.

TO put things in perspective, Ray Allen had the record for three pointers in the season and it stood for 9 years until Curry broke it.

Since that time, 6 other players have passed Ray Allen's 269. And others have come close.

Centers can shoot the three. But nobody has put up a triple double .
shyt makes zero sense, Big O won a chip avg a triple double

Westbrook won 0 yet he has 4 triple doubles seasons? Clearly his triple doubles don’t have the impact.. Westbrook is a stat padder period

Curry won 3 chips being an elite 3.pt shooter and playmaker

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Everyone who says that Russ gets triple-double cause he "goes hard all the time", was he not going as hard his first 7 years? Cause he wasn't anywhere close to his current averages.

And does that count the defensive end? Cause if you think Russ goes all-out on defense where he can't accumulate triple-double stats...

Back in the day Russ had a coach who publicly called him out for chasing triple-doubles, even tho he wasn't doing it 1/10th as much as he does now. And on Houston the team was in contention so he wasn't allowed to do it as much there either. He's been caught literally telling the box score guys to award him rebounds. It's no surprise that he's only allowed to statpad on teams with nothing big to play for. Shouldn't that tell us something?

His stats started to increase the year KD got hurt and he was forced to carry the team. When KD came back for his final year in OKC, Westbrook evolved. Plus, from KD final year through Westbrooks 2nd triple double season, he only missed 3 games.

And he's had triple doubles for 2 different teams and multiple lineups.

At the end of the day, you can't rack up those numbers without some type of resistance by the other team. EVEN if it's stat padding, you still have to put forth an effort.

In terms of winning, he was never on a contending team after KD left. That's not his fault.

what you're saying makes zero since. Championships are team accomplishments, not individual stats.

The Wizards aren't a title contender. And neither were those OKC teams.

Curry played on Championship caliber teams with HOF caliber talent. Curry is shooting lights out this year, but his current team is about what Westbrook had in OKC if not worse. If he leads them to a title this year, then you have a point.

But we both know that wont happen, don't we :mjpls:

I guess I would rather have Steph's late game sloppiness over Westbrook's late game tunnel vision.

Steph pretty easily.

People are so mesmerized by triple doubles. Dudes like Steph and CP3 impact the game way more than Westbrook because they maximize every part of their game.

Westbrook is good and sometimes slandered too much, but triple doubles don't impact winning as much as shooting better than league average, not turning the ball over a lot, and being decent at minimum on defense.

Russ because no one else has done this since Oscar Robertson. Even guys who were supposed to be the triple double kings(Lebron, Grant HIll) didn't put up these kind of numbers
But no one has done what Steph does literally ever. :gucci:

Do you really believe that Bron couldn't have averaged 2 more rebounds/game last year for a triple-double if he asked AD/Dwight/McGee to box out for him and let him have the easy ones the way Russ's bigs do? :usure:
