But it's the community that brings the problems and request for change to the politician. If said politician only cares about kickbacks and what they can get out of a situation, then they aren't serving the community at all.
It's two sides to the same coin tho. I don't think anyone is advocating abandoning grassroots/community efforts to vote. Just saying that as you start trying to employ those efforts go to the polls to elect politicians who will be supportive and vote against those pols who are not.

Here's the thing tho, breh. You can't have an interest in social justice and not have an interest in politics. Politicians enact policies.

This has always been my dilemma. Why must something as "pure" as social justice be politicized? We should be talking about human decency in regards to societal issues, not policies.

Nothing weak about colin not voting.
Nothing will ever stop or deminish his stance that US society needs to stop condoning and murdering of unarmed american citizens.
Typical play by the power structure to diminish the influence of someone they want marginalized because what he is saying is starting to go at the true root problem.

Exactly...voting is a part of the problem...because it suggest that the system which is inherently flawed can be fixed by using the same system and it cannot.:francis:.Black people are simply angry that the slick talking CaC got in...and The angry butt hurt CaCs in the MSM once again have played Black people by insinuating that it was the black vote that caused it..:beli:..now they have the perfect opportunity to go in on Kaep which is what these c00ns have always wanted to do in the first place...:youngsabo: This c00n ain't slick.....

It was weak. :ehh:

If u don't vote, u cant complain about shyt imo.

I voted this year and I just remember thinking to myself "What's the fukkin point?"

This is my opinion, but I feel as if I've caved to a system that doesn't work for me, from top to bottom. Why is it that a black man has to raise his voice everytime the system treats him unfairly? You mean to tell me that none of our reps, from the municipal to the federal can tell that maybe there's a problem before I raise my voice?

We keep banging on that door of equality but they only open it when they feel like it. At what point do we take matters into our own hands?

half of us didnt vote

:heh:
you're in Canada. When the next crackhead is up for mayor, we'll ride for your cause :camby:

Kaep shoulda voted at least locally. For all he knows a lot of people that agree with his stances and philosophies did the same shyt which coulda cost them locally. It's nice he can do other things but it's not that hard to just vote. Some of the National Anthems he kneels for take longer than filling out a ballot.

But to some of y'all I guess Kaep is gonna have to wear Prince Yahshua kneepads every Sunday cuz nothing will ever change.

:pacspit: y'all

Kaep is good. That man did what all these other athletes are afraid to do and y'all in here throwing the man under the bus just like that:snoop:

Now I see why other black athletes don't speak out. We don't have their backs when they do:snoop:
who doesn't have Kaep's back? :dwillhuh:? Nobody's against his cause or him. That doesn't mean he deserves unconditional support for everything he does and doesn't do.

:what: Why is it hard for some of yall to understand the concept of not voting? Were the jews ever going to vote their way out of what they endured in Germany? Voting aint helped the Native Americans get their country back. White folks aint leaving no time soon. Hell voting aint even the reason black folks are not slaves.

:sas2: How did these white folks get their freedom from England? Did they vote?

Those are bad comparisons. None of those groups were in a society such as the United states .

Yall keep glossing over the bigger picture. There are more things to vote for than presidency. You cant write Harambe on a yes or no measure/prop
You arguing with dudes that have never seen a voting booth. They have no idea how much are on those ballots.
