So this is a lie....

They're hating on PBC too right? It sucks to say this but HBO/Showtime hold the cards and HAVE ALL THE LEVERAGE IN 2017. I really believe Haymon with his inflated purses and overpaying of Fighters has created a monster every single one of his fighters now thinks they're a Million Dollar Baby. I mean you hear some of these dudes talk in the ring after their fights and all they talk about is this fight needs to be made only under the terms of XYZ amount of dollars and if I get XYZ amount of Revenue AKA Kid Chocolate or Danny Jacobs.

They got the Floyd ego without the clout, fanbase skills or MARKETABILITY.

I'm not a fan of what PBC has done to the boxing landscape the past couple of years(they're hardly the only culprit), but Steve Kim is not exactly an unbiased source fam. He's basically Fat Dan x 10, if a boxer put hands on him I would buy a ticket to their next fight just to salute that nikka.

What's most obvious here is true boxing fans wanted this to work and Haymon, with a solid juggernaut of a roster could have made sensational matchups and really done something special. I would be stocked if this made it to spring 2017.

It seems that for all the flaws of Arum and Oscar ( whom I am no fan of)....kept their rosters small and exposed themselves to less risk , dealt with HBO and their budget issues and may end up riding this out. And I DO NOT HATE ON AL HAYMON AND HIS SUCCESS.

Trust I know Steve Kim is awful....it was more for context and multiple sources. At some point someone from PBC will need to address this. And yes if Richard Schaefer ran this boy it would have been much different. As much as it sucks now to admit HBO and Showtime will be back in charge next year. A few more months on the shelves and guys will be out. If you're Thurman and don't get Spence Jr or Garcia in 3-6 months then what?

Al Haymon has given us better matchups than Bob Arum & Oscar De La Hoya this year:manny:
Really means nothing. This has been a terrible year for boxing. We got Thurman vs. Porter and what else? Honestly, I'm not recalling anything that stands out across any of fhe promoters

Why would I do that? I literally just said match making has been trash across all promoters outside of that Thurman vs. Porter fight. I'm talking big, interesting fights. Not no Canelo/Khan, GGG/Brook squash match bullshyt. Kovalev/Ward is another good one but it hasn't happened yet. I had forgotten about the Frampton fights. I'll count the Quigg fight as a big fight even though it sucked in execution. Still, 4 well matched, big fights in an entire year? :camby:
Like I said, there's probably been more that this year has been forgettable as fukk and hurt badly by the fight that the public most wanted to see (Canelo/GGG) not happening and those guys getting matched in shyt fights instead of fighting each other. GGG/Jacobs is sick but until it happens, this year still sucks

My guess is even if Haymon and PBC isn't working out these guys have a timeframe and no public bashing clause gag order not to speak out in their contracts. Cause most fighters would be speaking out.

A lot of rumors and sources. I see only quote in that article:

"Most people in TV sports programming stay away from trying to counter program college football, the NFL, MLB playoffs and the start of the NBA season in October and November," PBC spokesman Tim Smith said. "PBC is a TV boxing series, and as such, it's mindful of the sports programming around it, and it wants to maximize potential viewership among sports fans."

And that quote sounds exactly like this, from the Spike TV President in February this year:

"We're working on the 2016 schedule now. We had some blips going head to head with college football, so the discussion is figuring out what to steer clear of," Kay said. "We're bringing the younger MMA audience to boxing. We want to make sure we have the best opportunity to succeed."

I've been hearing of PBC's demise since it started. Seriously. With that in mind, and based on these quotes months apart, I'm gonna hold off on throwing dirt into the grave until I'm sure there's a body in it.

I don't get supposed boxing scribes. How is someone putting prospects on television a bad thing? This is the only sport that eats itself with garbage writers. Can you imagine a drag racing columnist bashing FS1 for airing a drag race with a bunch of novice drivers at some outskirt motor speed track in front of a few hundred people? They would never do it. They'd appreciate the look their niche sport is getting. If Al did eat thru the budget, so what? Applaud that man for trying and be thankful for the fights we got out of it along with the rising stars we got exposed to. The real problem, which Floyd spoke on also, are the fighters not willing to pay their dues. Cats out here turning down the biggest purse of their careers all because they saw Floyd and Al break the bank. Broner should be jumping at the chance to get a Manny on his resume. Garcia and Thurman should be itching to thump with each other. And then you got these shills pretending to be journalists crying about fighters thinking only about the money, only to write hit pieces about someone's pockets. fukk Dan

Are you on fuccin crack?! :dahell: :hovdead:

Oscar is hanging on by a thread. You think Bob and Oscar are keeping their rosters small deliberately?!:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: you think if they couldn't get 5-10 of Haymon's fighters like Thurman and Garcia they wouldn't jump at the chance? I thought the ring was more up to speed and clued up than this :upsetfavre:
