Since JJ had to bring back Sidious to save this thing, I will be highly pissed if Anakin doesn't come back as well to have a part in ending him like he was supposed to. He's nowhere to be seen from the disappointing leaks, but I'll wait and see the finished product. And they did massive reshoots on this thing recently, so I'm not writing this story off as a fail just yet. Abrams would get even more points if he brought Ahsoka out as well (who would only be 70-80 years old as a species that lives who knows how long), but I know that's a 1:100,000,000 long shot.

easter egg hunters did spot The Ghost from Rebels, but i'm certain it's nothing more than that

Even if they bring back Anakin it’s all irrelevant as super Rey will get all the credit. She is a nobody as the second film in this shytty trilogy suggested and not even a Skywalker (who are so important that Anakin was created by the force). They fukked up by killing Snooke and had no choice but to roll out the emperor again. It’s like after lord of the rings you find out that the one ring wasn’t destroyed and Frod and company failed and now a new group introduced by someone else not Tolkien would be the one finishing of Sauron making the previous adventure and journey irrelevant.

What if they reveal that Rey is the female reincarnation of Anakin???

That would cement this as the worst movie trilogy of all time:trash:

It's bad because there's hardly much Matrix action in the movie it was too focused on Zion which was typically the worst part of the series. It's bad because it doesn't really have an ending it was a setup for a failed MMO that didn't last that long before they shut it down. It's bad because they're clearly retconning the main characters they killed off in it like Neo and Trinity to bring them back for Matrix 4.

Revolutions is so bad it drug Reloaded down with it because it was supposed to be Reloaded's payoff. Reloaded is a good movie at least to me. It had better action than even the original and has one of the better strings of set pieces in film history with the great hall fight through the freeway chase.

But back to the subject:
This Star Wars trilogy exist solely as a cash grab. There's no creative spark for it. Even worse is Disney destroying better EU stuff that was canon for these movies which almost seem like bad fan fiction given the green light to be canon.

I'm not even against their whole girl power kick of making a woman a Jedi. All I'm saying is why couldn't Finn be a Jedi too? Why was he used to sell the movie carrying a light saber only to be tossed aside and become useless. He got downgraded so hard too. Rey isn't even a real character to me. I've seen two movies and I can't even describe her personality because she doesn't really have one. If they were going to make a female Jedi couldn't they have at least made her interesting and not some bland self insert character? The only one of the new 3 that's even remotely decent is Poe and he probably has the smallest role and presence.

:ehh:

I agree with you about the Zion stuff. I only really liked the Zion shyt once it got breached. Revolutions had some good set pieces tho. I don't remember them setting the ending up for the mmo though. I do remember folks online coming up with better fake leak endings then what we got.

Because rey had to be the only jedi. Can't have anyone showing her up :skip: So Finn being downgraded was the only way that was gonna go, once they decided to have rey be a mary sue.

But yeah.. she just there. She hasn't had a heroes journey.

KK's reputation is like :damn: right now. Think back to how smug they were throwing uncle george into the bushes :mjlol:

They need to throw in the towel and admit Lucas needs to come back and retcon this trilogy. Won't happen though.

It recently came to my attention that the SW Episode 9 Spoilers were floating across the great cyber cosmos. Naturally as any decent deviant, I immediately ceased all my activities and poured my time into accessing and reading said material. Two minutes in and I was deeply engrossed in its tale. To what commenced and proceeded to be quite the experience. The Spoilers in question an express ticket on an emotional roller coaster of awe, excitement, anticipation and culminating in rage and comedy. Act I was intense. Act II was magnificent. The same cannot be said for Act III nor IV. Ideally I'd have preferred to discuss the sections in their own vacuums and give overall feelings. However, for the purposes of time and efficiency, what better man to tackle this cesspit of disappointment than examining its central characters.

Rey: The great devour-er. A defiler of extreme proportions its borders the sadistic. Introduced to much fanfare, our primary protagonist represented a new take on SW. A young female lead to inspire a new generation and entice the fairer sex. Throughout the various movies her character was marred with accusations of Mary Sue, female Anakin, Clone etc. Yet, none of these hold a candle to her actions and implications within the story. For starters she is the daughter / descendant of Emperor Palpatine. The man whose mere presence caused galactic terror and a particular menace to the Skywalker family. After all it was he who poisoned Anakin's mind. Equally extending the same offer to his son. Torturing both in the proceeds. In this film, Rey is shown flirting with the inherent Dark Side that resides in her father/ancestor. Its execution coming of masterfully and giving us great expectation of what was to come. However, as typical of Disney she reverts back to the good in her. Fighting to fend off the rage which resided in her. There's one incident in which she decides to become Jesus. Gaining the capacity to heal her opponents not as a result of studying Jedi text. Nope, she simply wills herself to do so. O_O!! Ok. For the sake of expounding on Kylo, I will skip on her relationship and interaction with him and jump right to the final battle. No need to beat around the bush. Rey a fledgling Jedi whose inexperience isn't worth calling her Apprentice puts down Darth Sidious. Arguably the greatest SW cinematic villain. A man whose canonical legend portrays him as a galactic menace capable of fending off Grandsmasters. Let that statement sit and marinate. However, for the casual fan, allow me to refresh your memory. There once existed a young Jedi turned Sith Lord called Anakin. Whose purpose in the narrative was to restore balance in the galaxy. A destiny he accomplished by sacrificing himself to thwart Sidious. In turn fulfilling said prophesy. It was through his sacrifice for his son that we experienced the extent of his character. To have Sidious appear and be wiped out by Rey undermines his actions. Infact it potrays him as mere fool who temporarily impeded the Sith Lord's plans. Plans which over time developed into creating an Empire for his daughter to inherit. Plans which included manipulating Anakin's grandson into becoming a pawn. Speaking of which .......

Kylo: The single most tragic character in the history of the SW cinema. In this film he starts of as the Lord of a fleet. Yet, his actions and leadership neither inspires nor motivates. Instead it sows seeds of distrust and disinterest among his troops. A factor exacerbated by his fanatical desire to be Vader. Which dwarfs him from more immediate responsibilities, you know like training. Becoming a better duelist, training your Dark Side. Just the regular attributes that made Vader a truly fearsome man. Nonetheless, Kylo winds up meeting Palpatine. And considering his emotional vulnerabilities, its no wonder he recruits him to his cause. For the rest of the movie, Kylo becomes a Galatic policeman chasing for Rey. There's some fights here and there. However, its upon their final confrontation where Rey thwarts him. Piercing his chest and defating him in what thematically serves as the movies hint that she's surpassed him. Had he died here, it would have been a mercy. Instead Space Jesus Rey heals him to health and leaves him to his means. Battered, Shamed and Wounded Kylo is approached by his father who convinced him to switch to the light side. In comes Ben out with Kylo. When he reappears once more its to assist Rey. By now we learn that Palapatine never had any intentions to pass his knowledge and fleet to him. Another cruel revelation which serves to show he was merely a pawn. Not even his own faction gave him the seriousness he deserved. As expected his character is once again sidelined to give way to the Father vs Daughter dynamic in the narrative. That's a fancy way of saying he dies. Rey proceeds to get the glory of victory and picks up his grandfathers and mothers lightsabers. Please don't argue semantics and claim she threw them away. At the end of the day she used parts from both Anakin and Leia to craft her saber. And as final nail to the cofine. The great defiler decided to assume the name Skywalker. A spat to both this man and his family. The daughter of your families enemy is now plying of as one of you. And he accomplished the very thing you couldn't. Become a symbol equal to if not greater than your grandfather. fukkING LOL

fukk an Anakin. Be happy that George made him a force ghost at the end of ROTJ even though it was a terrible decision

And fukk a George Lucas, he hasn’t been involved with a good movie in 30 years
