So much potential with Finns story wasted.

Writer: so we got this guy Finn, hes a conflicted storm trooper whos had enough and decides to flip on em. I really feel like we can make a layered character with this guy.:jbhmm:

Disney: sounds good, lots of threads we can go from with that.:ehh:

Writer: and we can show his evolution from lowly stormtrooper to becoming a Jedi!:gladbron:

Disney: ......:whoa:we got a better idea for Finn. The moviegoers gonna love it!:smugfavre:

Writer: what we gonna do with Finn?:lupe:

Disney: instead of a Jedi, we’ll make him a big goof!:troll:

Writer: :gucci:

They could have done so much more with the character and trilogy. Instead of some bumbling goof.

Rey is such a boring ass character, I mean she's not funny, charming or anything, she's just there because she's "Powerful". She's like the Captain Marvel of Star Wars. As a matter of fact I can't think of any of these new Star Wars cats that I actually like.
It's really the actresses they choose more so than it being a female. Daisy Ridley is Kristin Stewart boring. Brie Larson was at least a little bit entertaining. I think a black female would've killed any of their roles.

I actually don't mind a female in the role, I think it's the way these characters are written.

They're all pretty trash. They've did what they did with Finn, Rey isn't compelling enough (or at all), and honestly, I still don't know why we're following her...and Poe isn't charming, and only been on screen for what 1/5 of the runtime? Kylo had the 2nd most potential, and Driver's done what he's could, but his story isn't interesting either, especially since he's treated like a flunky. They've done nothing with Chewie or 3PO, and R2 is MIA.

They only way they could've fukked this up this bad is by not even trying. Should've just kept Lucas' outline.

I don't know if J.J. can save this. He's not usually the one to be finishing shyt strong, he's usually the one who has some decent ideas on paper and then sets the table to get the ball rolling..

His finishing stretches are often :patrice: because he got a lot of ideas but don't know how to pay them off
Especially since they've essentially lost 1 whole movie

It goes deeper than that. There’s legit nothing to build off of from the last movie, which you need to have when concluding a trilogy. Every plot thread was closed or just thrown away and every character arc was wrapped up. There’s just 12-15 good guys left all on one old freighter ship while the bad guys have a fleet that dwarfs the army that marched on minas tirith in return of the king apparently. The only move to make at this point is a decades long time jump to essentially start a whole new story or to simply retcon the entire previous movie out like what happened with X-men: the last stand so that it’s no longer canon.

Kylo started off so great in the trilogy until he took the mask off. Then he became a bumbling fool just like Finn to always come up second against Rey.
:mjlol:i thought it was funny and different. that and snoke keep shyting on kylo was the best part of the two movies

Apparently asking for well written female characters with a believable background consistent with the Star Wars universe is "toxic masculinity"...

Kennedy and her army of dykes like to pretend fan favorites like Ahsoka Tano and Aayla Secura don't exist because they contradict their "SW fans are misogynists" agenda...
