After marinating on this a bit, Star Wars has an unenviable problem that most franchises dont. It's trying to appease the most opinionated and sometimes toxic fan base with over 40+ years of source material.

I don't care what folks say now, people HATED the prequels. And executing the sequel trilogy was going to be tough. With that being said they botched it. You can't serve two masters. Pick a lane you want to go with and stick with it.

Personally, they should have went with the most popular fanfict and added onto it a bit. As a creative, I get the need to put your own touch on things but when dealing with IP of this magnitude you just gotta go with the flow. It's a large reason why I had NO PROBLEM with TFA. It was fan service, but damn it felt good seeing everyone back on the big screen again. I was so excited to see where they were going with Rey, Snoke, and looking forward to Luke being a fully formed badass.

They fukked it up. Again, similar to Game of Thrones, sometimes as a writer you gotta understand that the material is bigger than you. It's not the time to try and reinvent the wheel. Just stick the fukking landing.

I disagree.

I think Star Wars problem lies in the fact the iconography of the series rest around a handful of things that come from A New Hope. They’ve remixed them in as many ways as possible since but it’s losing it viability outside of diehard fans.

It would be like doing a Superman movie without a guy in a blue suit/red cape with powers who works at a newspaper.
You can tell a story of a guy who takes up his mantle but at a certain point you have to let go of that original iconic imagery.

At a certain point you aren’t telling that original story anymore.

This shyt is just as bad as the last film shyts generic as hell.

Star wars was never about being a non stop action film they just need to give up at this point .

Bullshyt ass pulls and generic non sensical action doesn't make for a good sci fi film

weren't they saying in the other novels that palps "felt something in the unknown regions", insinuating that it was snoke?

the movie team is incompetent lmao.
Yep. That's why Jakku was so important. If I recall, the Empire was on Jakku trying to develop a safe hyperspace route to the Unknown Regions because it was still too dangerous. Palpatine wanted to find out who/what was calling out to him, and it was insinuated that it was Snoke.

That shyt had me like :gucci: when they flipped the script and made him a gimpy clone meant to be a test for Kylo. All them idiots dropped the ball with ROS :hhh:
