See the bold breh, eye candy is all that scene was and you're not supposed to think about it...

JJ thinks he's Spielberg but in reality he is to scifi films what Michael Bay is to action films...

At least Michael Bay doesn't pretend to give a fukk if a scene makes sense and formulating a cohesive plot, if the concept sounds dope to him, he will put it on film...

JJ legitimately thinks he can get away with weak plot devices and asinine scenes by masking them with cool CGI...
Star Wars is a movie about humans and aliens interacting with space ninja wizards and y'all are really here talking about actual semantics? Lol none of this shyt makes any sense and isn't supposed to

Has this JJ Abrams mufukka ever put out a really good movie? I know he did some tv shyt that i don't fukk with but he gets movie projects like he's really good, but i don't recall ever seeing some true hot shyt that he directed. Why is this? This is impossible, but if Christopher Nolan had directed force awakens and ros and they was exactly trash like it is now, i'd at least understand why he got the projects bc nolan got hits, but abrams has NOTHING that i've seen that makes him directing these two films make sense.

the original movies were as great as they were bc they took themselves and the material seriously. that's what lent it that extra 'it' factor that separates it from obvious trash in scifi/fantasy that is actually similar to star wars in content. even though it's a movie, you are supposed to make things make sense unless you're some guy like michael bay who is very plainly just in it for explosions and eye candy. that isn't the case with this movie, or maybe it is, i didn't watch the shyt.:lolbron: i assumed they were actually trying to make some decent material.

There's plenty of dumb moments in the originals that make no sense

so, one ok movie?
He did mission impossible 3 too and Star Trek into darkness as well which wasn’t as good as 2009 but he was literally screaming at Disney with into darkness “I can do Star Wars”. I think one of the bad guys even had a lightsaber esque weapon. I think JJ’s talent as a director is undeniable.

mufakkas should have just edited/adapted this for the big screen Thrawn trilogy - Wikipedia

Heir to the Empire reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list,[13] and the trilogy sold a combined total of 15 million copies.[14]

The Thrawn trilogy is widely credited with revitalizing the Star Wars franchise.[15][16][11] In The Secret History of Star Wars, Michael Kaminski suggests that this renewed interest was a factor in George Lucas' decision to create the prequel trilogy.[11] The series also introduced the popular Expanded Universe characters Talon Karrde, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade, and Gilad Pellaeon.[17][18] It has been called "influential, much-loved, and ground breaking".[17]

In August 2011, the series was voted into NPR's top 100 science fiction and fantasy books (coming in at place 88), as voted on by over 60,000 participants.
