It's not trash. He clearly has talent. He has a great eye and is very good at character interactions.

But he has clear limitations as a storyteller. With these established properties he has shown no desire or capacity to do anything more than remix/reference existing stories and plots.

JJ legitimately thinks he can get away with weak plot devices and asinine scenes by masking them with cool CGI...

From the first trailer for Force Awakens we were led to believe he was gonna be force sensitive not a damn castrated enuch screaming Rey!!!!!!! every 5 minutes..


And I don’t like this Poe Dameron guy he’s just annoying I’m like who the hell are you son?
