That’s why people are mad.

This made no sense with the first movie in the trilogy.

It made no sense in the context of the universe of Star Wars. Rian Johnson was arrogant and didn’t even adhere to the established lore and characterisation of the characters.

Pretty much. It disregarded a ton of what was in the force awakens and a ton of characters went and did a 180 to how they’ve been previously written. It disregards the questions left unanswered at the end of force awakens and asks no new questions itself. Kylo got his ass kicked again but is now totally in charge and can’t be redeemed, Luke is gone, the rebellion is reduced to some 15 people, Rey basically is a Jedi whose faced little struggle, and the first order seems as strong as ever. I think I saw this video in this thread. These changes would’ve made this a good movie. The only thing I’d change from the list is that Luke was doing the hologram the whole time, is still on his island, and doesn’t die because “reasons”. This sets up a real duel between them in episode 9 and makes his “see you round” comment meaningful. You should never change directors in the middle of a planned trilogy.

You can change directors but just have a story planned from start to finish. This whole a director will craft a story after the last thing that Disney was trying to do is ridiculous. Each director is writing the story after the last one. They should really have one story teller and have the directors direct from there.

I think I'm more disappointed with them dropping the ball on the jedi temple.In TFA they said luke went on a mission to find the first jedi temple, I was expecting to get some explanation on where they came from and how the jedi started, I though it would be epic like finding the pyramids. Instead luke and yoda just burnt that shyt down and didnt explain nothing and laughed at us

There was a way to make Finn and Rose's side story more relevant in the casino planet HOW I WOULD HAVE WROTE IT...

RETCON:

Finn and Rose go to the planet to meet the codebreaker specifically benicio del toro's character, he gets them out of jail and they want in on the snoke's ship but he says that he won't help them unless they help him, and he says on the planet we have an first order broker... a man who is key to the financial resources of the first order, he has knowledge of all the accounts, planets, and funds the first order. I want to kill this man... but unbenkowing to Finn and Rose, Del Toro wants access to the accounts it's a robbery... So they get to the imperial high roller, hijinks ensue, the characters are MORE fleshed out. Finn and Rose kills the guy and while their distracted Del Toro is downloading all the data... He steals an imperial ship which has uniforms and and an Imperial IFF so they can EASILY sneak aboard the snoke ship. Del toro betrays them, Finn scuffles with del toro we don't see it but toro places a disc in his pocket.

Now at the end of the movie toro calls Finn and explains "he was always about the money and you should check your pocket, I heard the rebels was running low on money so I left you a present." Finn goes to show Leia, poe and the others in the falcon. The disc contains an exact copy of the entire first order financial black book. Resources, builders, mercenaries, financials Leia knows that their forces are near the end but surmises with this they can financially rebuild the rebellion as a slow smile sneaks across their face...

Now doesnt that sound like a better story than what we saw in the fukking movie?!!?
