Obi would've been treated like Mace's backup and gotten a one hitter quitter. The only reason he could fight Anakin is because he got into his feels about it, the Dooku fight established that Anakin was a better fighter than him (He's also backing Obi-Wan down the whole fight).
You’re still right, but it was partly due to Obi-Wan’s style: Form III/Legends

Juan Roberto's bald spot
From an artivle i read and it's so true:

"Instead, she’s [Rose] constantly checking him and saving him. She’s also the one teaching him lessons about love and oppression.

Did you catch that last part? Everyone’s so caught up on how much they hate the CGI of the casino scene they missed the part where Finn is taught about slave labor. Nah. Who forgot Finn was stolen from his family?"
this is sort of ignored in all these discussions. The Finn and Rey characters mirror each other in that they are both being getting lessons, one from Luke and one from Rose. One in a far off planet/island, one in Canto Bight. And there's an arc in the Finn character, he is clearly learning and applying those lessons. He started out as a cowardly bumbling figure with a crush on Rey. To one that buys into the whole rebel ethos hook line and sinker. Ergo Holdo's self sacrifice and Finn's attempted self sacrifice. Also at the end when Rey looks over at Finn and he never looks back but focuses on Rose's well being, that's not the Finn we first knew who would have dropped everything to run and be at Rey's side (see beginning of movie)
Why Finns storyline is dismissed is best left to Star Wars aficionados :troll:

You are both right, I remember on one of the commentaries Lucas stated that Anakin was conflicted the entire fight hence why Obi-Wan managed to put up a fight.

The character of Finn makes no fukking sense in the grand scheme of things. Considering how he was raised and the time frame of things.

3 more factors: he trained Anakin so he knows his fighting style down pat, Obi-Wan is the master of Soresu - the defensive form, not a master, the PEAK and Obi-Wan is intimate with the high-ground move.
Then George also said it was dumb of Sidious to send his apprentices on potentially fatal missions. At least, that's what he said about Maul, and he was certainly overconfident about Vader.

It seems Sidious was all about "whoever wins, will become my next potential apprentice." He's thinks like "none of them can beat me anyway"

But all of that ish happened in the first movie, just replace Rose with Rey at the end, and maybe Rey with Poe at the beginning. They recycled his arc like the first movie never happened.

Not seeing it talked about much, but was anyone else bothered by the scene where Chewie was roasting the dead porg?

Considering that porgs only exist in the first place to appeal to small children, I can't imagine anyone under the age of 7 found that scene anything other than traumatizing.

Just felt like more mean spirited prepubescent teen comedy a la GOTG... par for the course these days from Disney apparently.

A Star Wars movie with no lightsaber battle:mjlol:

A Star Wars movie that treats an original main character that's over 40 years old like dogshyt :mjlol:

No set up for the next movie despite the franchise being a "saga" :mjlol:

How did this trash even get past script approval? :mjlol:

This is the director they've given a trilogy too:mjlol:,

Star Wars about to go the same way as The DCEU :picard:.

Lucas gave them two damn storyline outlines for the next trilogy and all they had to do was follow it. Outlines which treated the OG's with respect. Now y'all are permanently stuck with Luke being coward who went out like a bytch. Han being a deadbeat father who went out like a bytch. All to prop up lame new characters like Kylo Ren and Rey :wow:

Y'all truly fukking lost :wow:
