to be honest,...
there was no need to have the force kid portrayed because they already explained anakin was made by darth plagius in the last trilogy in return of the sith.
plus it was overkill to include the kid and the ring and even rose as well.
as it got to far away from the explanation of just who in the fukk the main force kid of the first movie is and why we supposed to be watching this and give a fukk anyway.
right now, we supposed to be interested in two of luke's failure face ass students.
one of who is, his nephew.
the other was thrown out there and i we have no idea.
at this point, why should i give a fukk about the daughter of a nerf herder.
when this series already told me not to and that character is not strong enough to wield the force in this way and be human.



the issue with this movie is it never revealed and had the origin movie it should have had with this.

it should have shown:

where in the fukk, snoak, and the two lead charcter poe and ol girl came from.
plus, where and what tie in does ol girl come from.
as this whole series is about a genetic clone's kid reaching for the brass ring to change the political dynamic using laser swords and sorceror powers far removed from medievel sorcery.

this movie keeps trying to get around a proper fukk'n origin or tie to some other franchise or time period to nail this down by assumption after this point.
this franchise is no longer the mysteriously great franchise we never thought we would see again and made them replace back in the show as a standard before the vcr.

so, real talk,..
they have to get this right because if you don't get star wars right.
then no consumer should ever purchase any product ever made after this.
as star wars being low quality means and illicits everything being of low quality period.


so, they have to get this right.
or real talk,..why are we buying shyt anyway..
if the one product that made us feel why we buying shyt is not good.

On first watch, and I usually don't change much after repeat viewings:

Empire
Sith
Rogue One =Jedi
Last Jedi = Clones
Menace
Force Awakens

I don't rank the OG Star Wars as it's the mother of all these flicks. It stands above all by default (even if not my favorite). TFA is last for the opposite reason, fukk that copyjob remake.

I...actually can't argue with this raking at all . All things being equal I would put Rogue One above Jedi, but Jedi has the massive nostalgia factor in its favor.

And all things being equal I would actually rank Attack of the Clones above The Last Jedi, but what pulls TLJ even is that it LOOKS so much better than AotC. The special effects in Clones have aged terribly, and TLJ has the benefit of looking like it was filmed in REAL environments instead of as video game cutscenes.

But I feel that Episodes 7 and 8 kind of insulted the audience's intelligence in ways none of the other movies did.
e.g.

The bad guys can't catch up to the good guys slowly flying away, yet a small ship can fly away from the resistance fleet at light speed, have an adventure on the Casino planet, and fly back? Then why couldn't the bad guys simply send some fighters in hyperspace in front of the resistance fleet? Plus, all of a sudden none of their weapons work beyond visual distance? Have they forgotten that TORPEDOS work in this universe? I could go on an on about stuff like that in this movie.

I see it as Snoke believing he can read Kylo's every thought and intention, and doing so for the most part, yet being unaware that Kylo is able to block off one tiny part of his mind, the part with the intention to bisect Snoke with the Saber. This would be a testament to how powerful Kylo is.

Or perhaps as you said, Kylo completely mind-tricked Snoke. Which would be an even greater indication of his power

Yeah, everything Snoke said he saw in Kylo's mind was true. He let Snoke see that he was turning his lightsaber to strike down his enemy, but he didn't reveal WHICH lightsaber and WHICH enemy. Not really a mind trick, just selectively hiding some information.
