not killing leia...not only did they not kill her, they had her survive in space, smh....seriously, what the fukk?!?!? that wouldve been the perfect send off for the character and a way to help make kylo come off more than a whiny kid......speaking of kylo: he still comes off as a whiny kid and not a big bad villain the universe should fear.....instead of killing leia, they killed capt phamsa...what a waste of a cool ass character...she shouldve been kylo's right hand man, she was the character to instill fear; she was the one....having the imperial guard getting bested by ray/kylo the way they did...no way in hell it shouldve been that easy....a lot of the forced comedy..
In the first movie he was needed for the bait and switch, in this one they needed someone in the rebellion to leave the ship since the rest of them were going no where.
to be honest,...
there was no need to have the force kid portrayed because they already explained anakin was made by darth plagius in the last trilogy in return of the sith.
plus it was overkill to include the kid and the ring and even rose as well.
as it got to far away from the explanation of just who in the fukk the main force kid of the first movie, rey actually is and why we supposed to be watching this and give a fukk anyway.
right now, we supposed to be interested in two of luke's failure face ass students.
one of who is, his nephew.
the other was thrown out there and i we have no idea.
at this point, why should i give a fukk about the daughter of a nerf herder.
when this series already told me not to and that character is not strong enough to wield the force in this way and be human.
the issue with this movie is it never revealed and had the origin movie it should have had with this.
it should have shown:
where in the fukk, snoak, and the two lead charcter poe and ol girl came from.
plus, where and what tie in does ol girl come from.
as this whole series is about a genetic clone's kid reaching for the brass ring to change the political dynamic using laser swords and sorceror powers far removed from medievel sorcery.
this movie keeps trying to get around a proper fukk'n origin or tie to some other franchise or time period to nail this down by assumption after this point.
this franchise is no longer the mysteriously great franchise we never thought we would see again and made them replace back in the show as a standard before the vcr.
so, real talk,..
they have to get this right because if you don't get star wars right.
then no consumer should ever purchase any product ever made after this.
as star wars being low quality means and illicits everything being of low quality period.
so, they have to get this right.
or real talk,..why are we buying shyt anyway..
if the one product that made us feel why we buying shyt is not good.
Easily the 2nd worst film of the series. Only behind Episode 2. But even episode 2 had some moments that stood out like Yoda fukking shyt up. This one had nothing for me.
I went to the first showing 6pm on Thursday with all the fanatics, so you know if some shyt happened everyone would react with claps or cheers. But damn it was dead silent the whole time.
Thats a first for me. Far cry from 1, 2, 3, Rogue One, and 7. I saw all those on the first showing too. people damn near did standing applauses for a lot of those movies. This had nothing. No wow moments.
The main problem i had was with the villains.
First we have kylo ren. He's supposed to be this generation's Darth Vader. He has no confidence. He's a loser. He loses to everyone he comes across. Who has he beaten? He gets bytched by Snoke. Rey has his number. Hes outsmarted by Luke. Those red body guards damn near bodied him. and now he's the supreme leader? The Rebels have it easy this next film.
Second we have that red head general. He's kylo ren's bytch and that says a lot. He's the bytches bytch. The movie starts and he already gets clowned and not taken serious. Any time he tries to push his weight around kylo ren checks him with ease.
Third we have Snoke. one of two true formidable villain in this trilogy. In 7, it looked like the rebels have someone they have to deal with... but What happens to him. All that boasting gets him killed like nothing. Wasted.
4th Phasma. the other true formidable looking villain. In 7 she didnt do shyt. ok now was the time to fix that. buttttttttt she basically gets played out the same way. Back 2 Back. she might as well have stayed in the trash compactor.
TNT's been showing the first 6 movies a lot recently to build hype but it's really doing the opposite
George's dialogue and romance scenes were hot trash but he added so much depth to the universe
Caught TFA on Starz a week ago and can safely say none of the battle scenes in that or TLJ have any genuine suspense or excitement like this
