Times flies
Has it been 2 years already?
i ain't even look through this thread, just dropping in to ask what the word is on our boy in this iteration? Yall know who i'm talking about.
Did he level up? Moment of truth
The movie doesnt even take risks though, thats the funny part. Rey is even more on the light, and kylo is even more on the dark. The Empire (excuse me First Order ) is still chasing the rebels. We're right back to where we were by the end of TFA except no luke or snoke now with zero answers to show for it besides why kylo burned the temple downThe comedy way over the top....star wars had funny banger from time to time but this shyt was just ridiculous....almost sketch comedy like....the pacing was terrible too. Rey and luke "train" for like a day and a half.....just because a movie is different and takes rises doesn't make it good
the switches between the different stories felt like a sitcomThe comedy way over the top....star wars had funny banger from time to time but this shyt was just ridiculous....almost sketch comedy like....the pacing was terrible too. I didn't like this at all.
So disappointed. The resistance shyt has always been the most boring part about these movies and that seemed like the focus. It took us what felt like 40 min to get to the Rey and Luke stuff and even that didn't last that long.
The dialogue was awful. Not that it's ever been Star Wars strong point, but still. The characters literally explained every single action they took. It was semi insulting as an audience member. It felt like when you watch a big NBA on ABC game and Mike Breen exlains the game like it's the first ever NBA game you've seen.
I also expected it to be darker than it was considering the director, but it felt pretty damn family friendly. There was no buzz or excitement in the theater either. Hardly a peep the whole time too. That's what Disney did to this franchise.
As awful as the prequels were, they came out every 3 years and were an event. Now its like another movie. This will be the quietest 1.5 billy ever.
Some ridiculous shyt in this flick too. The Leia floating scene. Lea blasting Poe and then her and Dern giggling about how much they like him. The yoda scene felt random as fukk too
Thetandoff with luke and kylo was beautiful to look at and I liked him brushing dat dirt off his shoulder. Though the only thing i truly loved about is movie was that you could tell it was shot on film, dat grain was lovely. The new weaons were cool too.
Yet another movie from 2017 getting great reviews that I didn't really fukk with. I was legit BORED throughout.
Other than that, between Disney buying Fox, net neutrality ending and this movie, this has been a shytty ass day.
It was aight
7.8/10
Seen it in IMAX
I wish kylo would have kept his mask on
Put the fukking mask back on

Well, the only positive aspects were the actors, specifically Hamill, Fisher, and Driver. Also the set designs were beautiful, save for the casino scene which sent a big political message (gambling, arms dealing, and animal captivity are th3 evil)...
More Diversity:
Double-edge sword, more Asian actors for that international pull, but they were either on some kamikaze shyt or Chooning....Rose did her thing though as a spunky sidekick.
Negatives:
Poor Villains:
You can't have a great epic without a strong antagonist and that is what failed with the PTs. Kylo wasn't it because he got ethered by Rey and the same continues here, struggling with the Royal Guards and still unable to best Rey (who had no training). Snoke got taken out like a chump on some sucka shyt...he can read thoughts of Kylo and Rey from millions of miles away, but can't feel a lightsaber move? He can send it around the room and smack Rey without, but he can't feel Kylo about to gut him?
We All Float Too:
So Leia can point blank survive missile blasts and the vacuum of space? If all high-level Jedi could do that, then Anakin should have been the Peter Quill of SW, just saying "fukk yo vacuum Sitha"...
Lack of Score:
The score had no punch to it, I give Williams a pass because he almost 90.
Girl Power:
This misandry message is bullshyt. Leia and Hodo (sp) slapping Poe and Finn getting zapped by Rose are just man-hating tropes..
Finnesed:
Made Finn the comic relief again, had him in his underwear in bubble leaking and disoriented. fukk the director.....
The Letter H:
SW doesn't use Earth languages, why are they spelling our alphabet?
Yoda:
A mess, a big mess. Why is his ghost still using a cane? Injuries follow you into the afterlife? CGI was better in AOTC....that says a lot.
Weak-Sauce Weapons:
Ren's Star Destroyer was pounding on the Rebel ship for 3 days and didn't breach it. The Dreadnought fired it's main cannons and barely razed the settlement.
The story itself was lazy with the use of flashbacks and nods to the OG/PT stories.
