Ren isn't very powerful, Dooku would give him the beats badly....Snoke was just poorly written, you can't make people hit Chris Brown dance moves with the Force and not sense your surrogate son's murderous intent.

It was his arrogance at that moment. He could taste victory and he was blinded by his own hubris.

Came back from watching this movie a few hours ago. I really really liked this movie! I can feel that some crazy sh!t is about to go down with Kylo Ren due to him being so powerful and all that rage. I can’t wait for him to become truly wicked with the Force.:wow:

I also liked Rey in this movie as you see her finally come to terms of whom she is and now a true leader of the Rebellion. I also can’t wait to see how powerful she can become!

And Luke...:banderas: He was on some next level Sh!t!!! That final showdown with Kylo gave me the chills! Can’t wait to see how much more presence he’ll have in the movies going forward.

Overall, I came out the movie theater really pleased and looking forward to Star Wars going in a new direction.

To be clear, I really fukking liked the movie overall. I got a PM because I put it in the same ranking as Clones, but I really fukking liked that movie too :yeshrug:

Except for Menace and Force Awakens I love every episode. To me Clones and TLJ suffer from the same problem, weak setups from previous episodes that they get stuck with. Phantom actually doing a better job than TFA.

Shyt that I liked, so y'all don't get it confused:

- Luke. I agree with breh above me, Luke was NEVER as cool as Obi-Wan or wise as Yoda/Qui-Gon. In fact most of Jedi is him being arrogant as fukk until the Emperor makes him eat that humble pie. I love the backstory of him trying to set up the Jedi order, failing miserably and getting aggy with the Jedi code/order. I LOVE that he mentioned Darth Sidious too.

- Kylo/Rey. I still think Rey is a bit too overpowered, but I enjoyed the fukk out of their connection. I see a lot of people hating on Kylo taking out Snoke, I loved that shyt - it's like a WHAT IF Anakin never got GOT by Obi Wan and managed to kill the Emperor. Kylo is a perfect descendant of the unstable Hayden Anakin. He fits that lineage like a tee kudos to the actor.

- Visually most of the movie was amazing. George was all about renewing Star Wars, he always put weird little shots in his movies. Ironically I feel like Rian is truer to the spirit of George Lucas than JJ, who just tried copying him.

I don't think the chase or the casino shyt really worked, but I loved the kids and especially that twist at the end.

Would've loved to see Hayden pop up and talk to Luke, but Yoda was cool too. Anakin was never a true teacher (even counting Ahsoka) so it would be weird for him to give Luke tips on how to run this Jedi shyt.

Poe/Finn/Leia were wasted imo. That Leia scene in space is possibly the most ridiculous scene in the saga.

Not getting a backstory on Snoke is a huge copout. But I'm glad they didn't make him an uberEmperor.

The comedy way over the top....star wars had funny banger from time to time but this shyt was just ridiculous....almost sketch comedy like....the pacing was terrible too. Rey and luke "train" for like a day and a half.....just because a movie is different and takes rises doesn't make it good

Also a thought....
what if Snokes Praetorian Guards were actually the Knights of Ren?

Nah, those dudes are force-sensitive. I think we see Ben fully pull up and wreck with them in Episode IX. The final conflict I think won't just be the end of the first order but the rebirth of the Jedi as well. The galaxy will ALWAYS have force-sensitive people and so SOMEONE will have to carry on that knowledge.

Also, if I'm not mistaken we saw that Rey had stolen the Jedi texts at the end of the film, clearly setting her up to be the one to carry on the Jedi legacy. So I think we see much more than just Rey vs. Ben. I think we see Rey and her pupils vs Ben and the Knights of Ren.
