Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
i see folks are doing the most to tear this apart. some of these comments trashing it are :heh:

Or maybe people just didn't like it? I don't understand the trend on here to get all worked up about people disagreeing with you about whether a movie was good or not. It's not like you have stock in Disney or was on the payroll. There are people who just didn't enjoy it.

Sounds like a dud. Both Eminem and Star Wars are officially :flabbynsick:

except its not a dud

its the boldest SW movie made to date in terms of how unconventional is. LIke i said earlier cats were crying that TFA was a reshash of ANH

and now TLJ drops can't at all be compared to being a remake of a previous SW movie, and folks have issues because their little theories didn't come true.

Wow, saw this at 11:30 last night here are my thoughts...

In general, the risks taken in this film are exactly what the series needed. The over reliance on the Jedi in the prequels was part of its downfall, it relegated literally every other type of character to the fringe and by the end it really wasn't "The Clone Wars" as much as it was "The-fight-between-a-couple-Jedi Wars".
Tension...my god the tension. So many moments where I just KNEW people were gonna die and they didn't, and moments where I KNEW people were gonna survive but they didn't.
Its also gorgeous to watch, there were moments that really had me like :ooh::ooh::ooh::ooh:

ON TO THE SPOILERS!!!

Cons
- I really hated those damn horse things on Canto Bight, that arc was already meh. But that just killed me.

- Leia's Force Ex Machina, seriously though like....what?

- Poe Dameron not being in an X-Wing for the whole film. I get it he's supposed to be the next leader of the Resistance/Rebels but Finn honestly has more resolve than he does...even though on the surface it seems otherwise.

Pros
- HOLY shyt THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN shyt HITS THINGS AT LIGHTSPEED?!

- Luke's inner conflict and darkness highlighted. I think this was really important considering the messianic status of the "Skywalker blood". Everyone expected Luke to be benevolent, calm, peaceful which is crazy because he was NEVER that way. On top of that it was totally wild to see him sense the darkness in Ben and even for a moment resolve to just kill him. I can't ever see Yoda or Obi-Wan ever doing that outside of full-blown battle. It was a insight that further explained the "Skywalker Blood" being tainted by an underlying connection to violence, fear and rage.

- Keeping the film contained on one central conflict. Part of what made the prequels so disjointed and irritating to watch was the jumping around from conflict to conflict (Sith is REALLY guilty of this). By centralizing the plot around this ONE skirmish you tighten the narrative and you make it about the characters and not the locales. It was kind of awesome to see a space faring film that actually mostly takes place....in space.

- Making Finn live up to his "hero" title and making Hux the comic relief was very important. Sure Finn had his funny moments, but his role as the "Han Solo" outsider in all this played well. Although, I wasn't a fan of the Canto Bight arc, I was a fan of seeing Finn not be offered up as a comic relief but as a major cog and player in the battle....and also ready to sacrifice himself when it came time to do the deed.
Hux on the other hand goes from #1 Space Nazi to nothing more than a coward and a vessel for Kylo to express his rage through. It was great.

not liking a movie is fine

DOING THE MOST is what i said

like..the person who said why a certain character had a certain accessory when they appeared in the movie and how it was stupid based on how they could appear

that is doing the most

Goon Squad - Catset
saw this at midnight.
i think the actual substance of the plot in the movie was really good. i really disliked the
excessive amount of jokes. they were relentless too, after like every crazy emotional scene there would be no time to process it because someone would say some dumb shyt. i also thought the directing was notably worse than the force awakens, and i was a lot less impressed by the way the movie was shot. also i thought the casino planet looked really dumb and overly earthlike
if you go into this movie without taking it too seriously youll probably like it
