But while I think it was better and overall a solid movie there's still a lot I didn't like.
Finn is a jobber. I kinda just want him to die. Conflicted about the snoke thing. Like i still want answers about him. Too powerful to just overlook. I couldnt have been the only one wishing rey would have taking up Kylo. Dont get how luke died. Loved them letting him go out like an OG tho. The fake that the first order wastes so much time and energy on fighting 300 rebels in a galaxy of people still baffles me
I could be 100% wrong but I took Luke dying because he just became one with the Force. Dude blocked his connection to it for a long ass time and after displaying the most powerful feat of strength we've seen with the Force, dude became at peace with it once again and rode into the sunset as his master Yoda asked. The world needs a new breed of Jedi so he's gonna do work from the beyond like Obi Wan.

Even though the FO chasing down the rebel ship does become :mjlol: by the time we see the 7th shot of that big ass ship still running behind Leia's cruiser, they still give a decent enough explanation, imo. The rebel ship is faster and the FO is in no rush as, in Hux's mind, they have everything covered and they are gonna fukk them up eventually. It also goes with the theme of arrogance screwing over a powerful entity. It's no doubt "plot armor" more than anything else, but it didn't bother me that much :manny:

Agreed on Snoke. I have no problem with him dying but I wanted a little backstory on him, there was no harm in a couple of minutes of exposition on dude.
Another thing I felt was a shot at JJ:

Except for the opening crawl Rian bushes that RESISTANCE shyt and just refers to Leia and her gang as REBELS.

They even refer to themselves as Rebels, and "Rebel scum" is used loke 5times in the movie

I felt brushing off Maz was also a shot at JJ :lolbron:

Lack of Score:
The score had no punch to it, I give Williams a pass because he almost 90.

Agreed. ROTS soundtrack >>>>>>>>>>
The Letter H:
SW doesn't use Earth languages, why are they spelling our alphabet?
High Galactic

Yoda:
A mess, a big mess. Why is his ghost still using a cane? Injuries follow you into the afterlife? CGI was better in AOTC....that says a lot.

He deliberately chose to appear in the form Luke was familiar with; as Obi-Wan did in ROTJ.

63% audience rating on rotten tomatoes. Seems the critics love it but the fans are rejecting it. Judge for myself tonight.

Movie is gonna be divisive as fukk. Time will tell if those fans will like it more in a few years or if people like me will become more lukewarm about it and start focusing more on it's flaws (that it no doubt has).

I'm more surprised by people being ":manny:" about the movie than fans not liking it or hating it.

Negatives:
Poor Villains:
You can't have a great epic without a strong antagonist and that is what failed with the PTs. Kylo wasn't it because he got ethered by Rey and the same continues here, struggling with the Royal Guards and still unable to best Rey (who had no training). Snoke got taken out like a chump on some sucka shyt...he can read thoughts of Kylo and Rey from millions of miles away, but can't feel a lightsaber move? He can send it around the room and smack Rey without, but he can't feel Kylo about to gut him?

The fact Kylo can mind trick a dude as powerful as Snoke shows just how fukking powerful Kyle is. Snoke can't feel the lightsaber because he's consumed by arrogance, the whole movie beats you in the head about how much of a weakness arrogance is in the Force. Kylo pretty much did to him what every great Sith has done to the Jedi for centuries. Hell you can also make a parallel with Vader and Sidious, as the Emperor NEVER saw Vader turning on him at that moment, picking him up like a child and throwing him to the bushes...

At this point we can only imply that Ren is just not as good with a saber as he is with the Force.

And yeah, even though I accepted the reason for Rey's power, she's still way too skilled for the zero training she's had.

Well, the only positive aspects were the actors, specifically Hamill, Fisher, and Driver. Also the set designs were beautiful, save for the casino scene which sent a big political message (gambling, arms dealing, and animal captivity are th3 evil)...

More Diversity:
Double-edge sword, more Asian actors for that international pull, but they were either on some kamikaze shyt or Chooning....Rose did her thing though as a spunky sidekick.

Negatives:

We All Float Too:
So Leia can point blank survive missile blasts and the vacuum of space? If all high-level Jedi could do that, then Anakin should have been the Peter Quill of SW, just saying "fukk yo vacuum Sitha"...

Lack of Score:
The score had no punch to it, I give Williams a pass because he almost 90.

Girl Power:
This misandry message is bullshyt. Leia and Hodo (sp) slapping Poe and Finn getting zapped by Rose are just man-hating tropes..

Finnesed:
Made Finn the comic relief again, had him in his underwear in bubble leaking and disoriented. fukk the director.....

The Letter H:
SW doesn't use Earth languages, why are they spelling our alphabet?

Yoda:
A mess, a big mess. Why is his ghost still using a cane? Injuries follow you into the afterlife? CGI was better in AOTC....that says a lot.

Weak-Sauce Weapons:
Ren's Star Destroyer was pounding on the Rebel ship for 3 days and didn't breach it. The Dreadnought fired it's main cannons and barely razed the settlement.

The story itself was lazy with the use of flashbacks and nods to the OG/PT stories.
perfect sum up ....the snoke shyt is some of the worst writing I've ever seen put on a film... A character that Strong that can't sense something like that???? Kylo ren being so weak but still getting over on cats???

I see it as Snoke believing he can read Kylo's every thought and intention, and doing so for the most part, yet being unaware that Kylo is able to block off one tiny part of his mind, the part with the intention to bisect Snoke with the Saber. This would be a testament to how powerful Kylo is.

Or perhaps as you said, Kylo completely mind-tricked Snoke. Which would be an even greater indication of his power

can't wait to see how powerful he will be in 9. I'm sure we will finally get to meet the Knights of Ren since Kylo is the new Supreme leader of the FO.

Ren isn't very powerful, Dooku would give him the beats badly....Snoke was just poorly written, you can't make people hit Chris Brown dance moves with the Force and not sense your surrogate son's murderous intent.

Kylo cuts down way more guards than Rey does. She basically gets hemmed up by that one dual wielder while Kylo takes out the rest and only needs the assist at the end after the numbers game finally adds up on him. RJ actually did a great job of displaying Rey's force abilities. All she has his raw strength. Kylo and Snoke toy with her every other way.

Good point :ooh:Given that fact that Snoke died & Phasma died (not to mention Luke), it opens up room for several new characters, especially within the First Order

I just really wish Rey turned. If they are gonna do a time skip anyway I feel like they couldn'[ been like "fukk a trilogy" and hit us with the biggest twist in star wars history. Rey joins Kylo under the manipulation of creating a better world. Luke is broken about failing twice and goes to try to find a new chosen one of some shyt. Finds that boy on that casino planet who has damn near the same story as Anakin and cook from there /SPOILER]

Yes you can. Sidious was throwing lightning out of his hands and toying with Luke and didn't see Vader doing something about it while being conflicted. Nor did he see Vader turning on him and legit throwing him to the galactic bushes. Arrogance is a force user's kryptonite :manny:
And Ren is very powerful, the motherfukker survived a blaster shot from a gun that was killing people and sent them flying 10 yards back. He stopped a blaster shot in mid air. Buried Luke Skywalker...

"But he lost to Rey :stopitslime:" he did, while being severely injured and facing off the person the Force chose to be his equal so there could be balance.

I understand not liking the developments of Snoke and Ren in TLJ but everything that happens to them is fairly established.
