The most daring, truly fresh thing the movie could have done? Have rey join kylo as his wife, on the condition that they use the First Order for good. Theres enough conflict in Kylo where he would go for that. Ends the war, and creates a Jedi monarchy that lasts. Rey can even live with some medieval style guilt that shes been reduced to a bride but done so in order to save the galaxy. Leia would even approve because her son would have peace.

And finn was better in TFA. He was funnier and actually did stuff. He killed people and fought kylo well enough. HERE? He does nothing but waste time at a casino and gets a fat asian chick for his trouble. He doesnt even get to kill phasma
.

Killing admiral Ackbar off screen! What the flying fukk?!

.
Ackbar wasnt offscreen. He was right in the same room as leia

I'm finished with the series. Finn actually is very skilled and very gifted warrior, according to Before the Awakening book, which I thought was canon. All that is thrown out the window in this movie, and like someone mentioned earlier, he's just a jobber. He's brave and gives good intel on the First Order, but that's it. Oh, forget about him being force-sensitvie, too. This movie showed no chance of that happening. The Phasma fight was also underwhelming.

Where the heck are the Knights of Ren? I'm very interested to know more about this group of force-sensitve, former luke students who are bad-asses, but they appear nowhere in the movie.

I hated how they got rid of Snoke. We don't learn anything about his background, how he came into power, and what the heck is out there in the unknown regions, which I assume he is from. They could have done much more with his character.

As a black man, I cannot support this franchise anymore because of the way they have screwed up Finn's character.

This. I figured RJ would expound upon the context clues and subliminals given in TFA, but the ball was dropped... as if not a single fukk was given.

You have some low standards
Luke got shytted on something serious in this movie
Entirety of the OT trio is dead and their legacy was spit on to give us Kylo Ren. A pretty unworthy legacy holder for the skywalker mantle.
Snoke the last real threat amounts to nothing and is killed unceremoniously to prop up the weak af villain the main hero beat last movie.
FO was made into a joke with this movie
I mean last movie they blew up 5 planets and now with this one the entire organization looks dumb
Oh that's right its because Kylo is leading them now and its the incompetence of all the FO that led that to happen.

Any true Star Wars fan who was hyped to see Luke in TFA and find out what he was up to since ROTJ will be really disappointed
Finn is just a special issue I have with this film because I as a black man was hype to see a new black face like Lando or Mace but be a main hero

They have comics and books and even BF2 that talk about what luke has been doing since ROTJ.

As much as I hated what they did to Luke in this movie
I was hyped for the Kylo vs Luke fight even though Kylo is a joke and got beat by Rey but I said hey at least I get to see Luke in action and be a badass :takedat:

That whole standoff was great until it was revealed Luke was just a projection. RJ had me right up until then and then Luke died from that :hhh:

One step forward 3 steps back

I really like Poe in this movie but he got turned into a bytch this movie because he has a dikk between his legs
I mean Holdo and Leia both just emasculating breh
What was Luke's plan ?why couldn't he just say I'm gonna stall him ?? That's what killed him all the showboating and not saying a word. Die from strain of projecting across the galaxy with no plan
This. I figured RJ would expound upon the context clues and subliminals given in TFA, but the ball was dropped... as if not a single fukk was given.
That's the most disappointing . It's like they assume EVERYONE hated the force awakens and it should mostly be ignored insulting any of the good stuff JJ did .

Yeah I guess if u never seen a star wars movie and aren't into space fantasy it might be wack.

See the og trilogy and you'll see why it's so revered but these new movies just don't capture it's essence. It was a different time too, shyt was magical in movies back in the day it seemed. All this cgi and digital film looks different and doesn't feel real. :francis:

Yea, th only star wars movie i remember seeing was the one with darth maul or whatever cuz they was at some sand place. This was when I was like 5-8 years old and i was born in 94, then i saw the one where they fought on sum lava or sum shyt and one of em got so injured he became darth vador,

Why everybody so surprised about Leia? Luke did say in ROTJ that she would learn to use the force as well in time. Sure she isn’t light saber wielding but she’s a Skywalker the daughter of her Father Anakin Skywalker and now she mad Old she’s bound to know some Tricks & Tips on using the Force we just never saw it before. I swear common sense isn’t so common

That sounds crazy; but in an intriguing way :ohhh: :patrice:

My opinion.....

If you hate the "Disneyfication" of the Star Wars Franchise, then I would suggest that you just stick to the novels and comics because that will be Star Wars in its purest form. Let go of everything that was great about the Lucas Star Wars films. It's over.
This.

u were born too late. Hell, the OG came out in 77. Crazy it's been 40 years.

I don't think anyone is mad that Leia is able to use the Force. It's just that the way she used it was ridiculous, borderline terrible. It was just a really badly-executed scene and they should've come up with a better way for her to showcase her power

I am Groot?

Well, the only positive aspects were the actors, specifically Hamill, Fisher, and Driver. Also the set designs were beautiful, save for the casino scene which sent a big political message (gambling, arms dealing, and animal captivity are th3 evil)...

More Diversity:
Double-edge sword, more Asian actors for that international pull, but they were either on some kamikaze shyt or Chooning....Rose did her thing though as a spunky sidekick.

Negatives:
Poor Villains:
You can't have a great epic without a strong antagonist and that is what failed with the PTs. Kylo wasn't it because he got ethered by Rey and the same continues here, struggling with the Royal Guards and still unable to best Rey (who had no training). Snoke got taken out like a chump on some sucka shyt...he can read thoughts of Kylo and Rey from millions of miles away, but can't feel a lightsaber move? He can send it around the room and smack Rey without, but he can't feel Kylo about to gut him?

We All Float Too:
So Leia can point blank survive missile blasts and the vacuum of space? If all high-level Jedi could do that, then Anakin should have been the Peter Quill of SW, just saying "fukk yo vacuum Sitha"...

Lack of Score:
The score had no punch to it, I give Williams a pass because he almost 90.

Girl Power:
This misandry message is bullshyt. Leia and Hodo (sp) slapping Poe and Finn getting zapped by Rose are just man-hating tropes..

Finnesed:
Made Finn the comic relief again, had him in his underwear in bubble leaking and disoriented. fukk the director.....

The Letter H:
SW doesn't use Earth languages, why are they spelling our alphabet?

Yoda:
A mess, a big mess. Why is his ghost still using a cane? Injuries follow you into the afterlife? CGI was better in AOTC....that says a lot.

Weak-Sauce Weapons:
Ren's Star Destroyer was pounding on the Rebel ship for 3 days and didn't breach it. The Dreadnought fired it's main cannons and barely razed the settlement.

The story itself was lazy with the use of flashbacks and nods to the OG/PT stories.
