Interesting:

I could see her being his kid but big picture I don't see how they have time to tell the story. It would be a cool detail but missed by the majority that don't read the novels or watch the cartoons. Del Toro being him still doesn't make sense to me just because of the fact he was MIA for so long.

Indeed.

The hesitation is how much they have time to fit items into the movie while pushing the current characters forward.

Bothers me that Luke couldn't sense her but infuses you could say the same about Anakin which also bothered me.

In regards to Anakin it could just be because he never met Luke. With Rey perhaps Kylo used a force ability (taught by Snoke?) to hide Rey's force presence from Luke.

Also if that's the case maybe when Rey's abilities seemed to reawaken that was when Luke could sense her again. And when she arrived on the island it confirmed what he suspected.

only thing this theory really didn't mention is the scene where Maz asks Han Solo "who's the girl" and they don't show what he answers, which makes it seem like Han knows/has an idea who she is.

Also, since Kylo Ren & Lor San Tekka obviously knew each other, is it possible that before Kylo went full darkside he convinced San Tekka to take Rey to Jakku? And LST just told her that her family will be back & proceeded to be low-key so she wouldn't come ask more questions?

dude is perfect for the role....and after I saw it thought "why couldnt HE have been Anakin" I think hes great in the role.

Outside of the obvious relative to his age, I don't know that Hayden had much to work with. The way the story unfolded relative to what we know now just didn't work
