Snoke was in hiding for two possible reasons:

He wasn't force sensitive so he could have never challenged the Sith or Jedi

He was in the mix and was seriously injured and had to fall back.

My point in Ezra is that by the end of Rebels he won't need any training. At 15 he is already being portrayed as stronger than his master. If he were to survive to the timeline of the new trilogy he would be a beast. No reason for him to take a back seat to an untrained Kylo and based on his character he wouldn't.

Some could be:

* Kylo has not been the Master of the Knights Of Ren for long.

* There are multiple "Masters" or Kylo and Ezra are co-masters

* Ezra was injured in a duel with Kylo for the title and is now returning.

* Ezra is a darkside user but not a KOR and has a very prominent role in the FO

* Ezra is stationed somewhere in the Unknown Regions (possibly being sent on a mission by Snoke) with little contact and is only just returning and becoming aware of Kylo

* Ezra has been frozen in carbonite

* Ezra heads a splinter dark side group either independant of the First Order or within the FO but in competition with the KOR

* Ezra just doesn't have an immediate issue with Kylo being the Master Of The Knights Of Ren

* Ezra has another title within the KOR above Kylo. Maybe Ezra is even a Sith apprentice and Kylo as Master Of The Knights Of Ren wants to become one.

Man it's just hard to believe Sidious wouldn't be aware of this unless he sensed Vader was slipping (or trying to take over) between Ep 5 and 6, and was Snoke training to be his next apprentice.

Episode 8 was due for 7/7 release in 2017 and due to the new Dec 15 release date.

Man it's just hard to believe Sidious wouldn't be aware of this unless he sensed Vader was slipping (or trying to take over) between Ep 5 and 6, and was Snoke training to be his next apprentice.

Agree, which is why I think it has to be Plageuis. Along with manipulating midchlorians he may have developed certain force abilities allowing him to hide his presence in the force throughout this time (Jacen Solo does this in Legends).

There is one other I guess semi plausible theory. Snoke is the Son from Mortis from TCW. I don't think so though.

That still needs to be re-canonized first though Apparently Lucas picked his species for the novel so maybe it's the same

Even in the comics Sidous was always looking for someone to replace Vader. I'm sure in Rebels he probably going to want Ashoka to take Vader's position.
