actually the prequels are primarily criticized because they're terrible fukking movies. has nothing to do with being too different from the original trilogy, the prequels are just bad movies with terrible pacing, terrible dialogue, terrible acting, wooden characters and cartoonish CGI. even if the original trilogy never existed the prequels would still be bad on their own. actually you could make the argument that they'd be even worse, since the best moments of the prequels are the scenes that foreshadow to the originals anyway
i fear the spin-offs might be too much though. rogue one sounds like a great idea but a young han movie!?!?
i'm all for original stories and exploring new facets of the galaxy but if we're just gonna get needless origin stories then i would rather not have them at all. star wars should be an event film, don't over saturate the market.
give my wallet a break.
it has none. it's an excuse to exploit a popular character. we don't need a "when han met chewie" movie.A young Han Solo movie has so much potential though
Grow into what ? It's a continuation of the story told in the previous 6 movies what did you expect to see in this movie ? You don't have to watch bro but your criticism sounds dumb man .

the character's redemption already occurs in the OT. a han prequel cannot have a happy ending because when we first meet him in ANH he is at a low point.
darth vader and han solo worked as characters because of how we were introduced to them. vader was pure evil badassery and han was a no nonsense rebel. if we had been introduced to them first as a whiny kid and a young hotshot, we wouldn't have taken to them like we did. this not a period of time we need to explore. the jumping point for those characters must be where we first meet them in ANH.
It has everything to do with not being the original trilogy, it's the fanbase we're talking about for crying out loud
The Force Awakens isn't looking like a New Hope 2.0 and lingering on nostalgia to the first three by sheer coincidence
Exactly ! This is a continuation of the original storyline and niccas complaining that the same people and continuations of those storylines .Is it nostalgia or is it the fact that people like the characters and want to know what happened to them after episode 6. I think its the latter. You cant finally create the sequel everyone has wanted and then say "Yeah, all those characters and story lines you wanted to see continue.....fukk those. Here is something completely unrelated for you to watch". You can go that route for the later films and spinoffs but for the first one you have to tie everything together.
And thats the final word. The reception this is getting everywhere is crazy to me. Am I the only cynical one? I guess I'm still bitter about the prequels but I can't forget the crazy hype surrounding the first trailer of The Phantom Menace, and look how that turned out. Yes, I really want this to be good because the OT is my shyt, but I'm frankly shocked at the excitement this trailer is generating, considering the past disappointments.
Watching the reaction to the trailers has been entertaining. Even the star of the movie is freaking out lol
Isn't it a big deal that Finn can wield it and survive? If the Force is in all things, there's no way he's not Force sensitive; maybe in a different way - like in the original trilogy way instead of the midichlorian bullshyt way -- but the Force is strong within him.Not necessarily.
FInn is portrayed as the hero with heart.
Finn is entrusted the lightsaber to deliver it to Rey because she's the "chosen" one.
Rey rejects her destiny, so, Finn wields it instead.
Finn faces off agains't kylo ren in the forest .
He gets his ass handed to him (He lives tho).
Rey distraught over finn. Grabs the saber with the force and faces Kylo.
Gollum was the most heartfelt thing about the LOTR though. He turned what could have been a one dimensional character into a multi-faceted figure of tragedy.Maybe he wants to be known as just an actor and resents people only know him as gollum from Lord of the rings.
He got a point, though, about black man playing second fiddle to a white bytch. Maybe it's a Mirror Universe take on the OT's LeiaLuke, Han and Lando. I don't know. Still, I want the brother to succeed. So edgy
Who the fukk are you to determine what we need? Shut the fukk up bro
That movie would do numbers
I know he was an elite stormtrooper, but to be compeltely untrained in this and hold his own for some time against a Sith Lord, and possibly a Skywalker/Solo, is impressive and I'd be very surpsied if he wasn't a powerful force sensitive.
