Star Wars really is going to reach unprecedented heights over the next decade though. Not only the ST, but spin offs every other year, probably episodes 9-12 of the main trilogy in 5-10 years, rebels, another TV show planned for 2017-18 set in the ST (http://www.theforce.net/story/front/Rumor_Lucasfilm_Planning_PostROTJ_Animated_Series_161156.asp), new comics, books, games (battlefront 3) etc. What a resurgence

I am intrigued by the trailer. It has that hokey spaghetti western feel of the originals but with post 2010 VFX and a new generation of faces. Hopefully the young brother lives and is an integral part of the story. I will see it in theaters.

I was with you until this... What's wrong with Yoda flipping around? To see him throwdown was a huge highlight of the prequels to me.

yoda and the emperor, as portrayed in the original movies, were far wiser and far more powerful.
i mean you tell me. do you believe a dude that could literally move spaceships with his mind would ever lower himself to a sword fight?
seeing yoda and the emperor engage in a lightsaber duel is like watching god and the devil deciding the fate of the world over a game of checkers. it is beneath them. they function on a much higher plane.

How else is he going to turn Vader into his pupil ? He manipulated him using his wife (his weakness) maybe his only weakness,used it against him...
I dont have an issue with it....its semi brilliant because its so simple and relatable to a viewer that darth vader being the most powerful entity in the galaxy,his one weakness is padme...and emperor recognized that and used his own naivety against him.
They had to tie it in somehow,its not my story to tell....I thnk theres far worse plot revelations than that.

in the originals it is implied that vader was SEDUCED by the emperor. SEDUCED by the dark side.
that is how the devil works. temptation. the quick and easy path.
it made more sense that vader would serve the emperor for the same reasons a fat bytch who weighs 400 pounds might continue to eat herself to death. the same reason why pookie couldn't put down the pipe. because it controlled him. THAT is the power of the dark side.
people turn to dark side out of fear, anger and hopelessness.
