Just started this. This is better than I thought it would be. Like a very interesting set of perspectives seeing children navigate the tenuous state of the State Wars universe.

The show isn’t bad but it’s hard for me to like shyt with kids as the leads
Jod really makes the show IMO because spoiled kids getting out of jams like in episode 6 felt a little too fortunate at times. The kids have a similar vibe with Luke wanting to go on an adventure. One issue is the kids being the majority, while in New Hope you had Obi-Wan, Han, Chewy and the Droids. I do like the themes and ideas of kids experiencing the adventure and seeing what life is truly like since they haven't been told the truth.

Tho Fern is the only kid who completely missed with me. The rest of the kids are fine since Wim is starting to get it.

I've to admit the finale was a bit underwhelming. More how things are left more open eneded and with the ratings not looking good I doubt we're getting S2 of this :francis:. Plus I don't really see what they could work with outside maybe Jod's redemption perhaps? I still really enjoyed the show.

Furthermore, I liked the direction making Jod as the bad guy for the kids to overcome. More so the point for Wim and the others to realize the galaxy is not as excited as they make it out to be. Still, compared to most of the pirates we saw, Jod was being too kind. He didn't want to kill anyone like that and for him not willing to do that is why he lost.

It's strange that the supervisor was a Droid that essentially powered up the whole damn planet basically. So this raises my questions for the people of At Atten. Can they operate on their own or would the new republic help migrate them? I just don't know if there is too much for them to work with here. It would have been better to give some answers here imo.

Can't wait for Andor in a few months. This show was fun, (which imo is what Star Wars has missed outside of Mando S1) but Andor is on another level.

feel like this could have easily just been a fun little 2 hour movie. could have still been a Disney+ release, but literally Star Wars Goonies the movie would have probably been a little better, but i guess with streaming you have to pad your content and stretch it and people would bytch it should have been theatrical despite not really being theatrical at all. it's not like a show is any cheaper than a movie these days

It had a lot of heart and as a family-friendly entry, it did its thing. Much of modern Star Wars lacks what made the OT good and appealing. I do think Mando S1 had that feeling, but everything after S2 was just a mess.

Andor is the exception where Star Wars really has never been a well-written series with outstanding world building. The biggest appeal has been about the characters. People adore Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, etc. and what they go through in the trilogy.

Mando was good for like 3/4 of the first season. as soon as they started to really flirt with all the actual Mandalore stuff, it went to shyt. if they didn't just show the cute puppet, who fukkin cared about anything? season 2 stunk, and i didn't even bother with season 3. i'm fine saying this is the best SW show (don't watch Andor b/c i simply don't give a single shyt about that character, i know that's univerally #1) Mando has the same "overration" (a real word) that Wandavision has b/c it came first. both had good first seasons, but at this point they are grossly overrated.
