i guess i'm just a nostalgia sucker, b/c this was the best Disney+ SW trailer. a fun show with aliens? who woulda thunk it. that said, probably gonna be way too "kiddie" but it's aimed at anyone who has ever been a kid. again, nostalgia sucker

Back in 1986 they marketed adult movies to kids. Robocop didn't have a cute robot dog in it. it had blood and gore.
and yet they still sold toys, Grownups back in 1986 were able to enjoy these movies and shows too because of this.
starwars wasn't kid focused until return of the jedi when they included ewoks and everybody hated it at the time.

I like it so far.
  • The biggest interest thing is the kids' home planet. It being mentioned as a myth makes me wonder why it is so isolated. It did seem it was under strict regulation.
  • From the kids' side, it's a kids adventure. But with them getting involved with pirates is perhaps showing that the outside world is cruler then Wim realizes. Also, Fern is the other kid who prob gets the most focus.
  • We're getting a focus on pirates which is actual a bit of Star Wars that in terms of Shows & Films we haven't gotten outside of episodes in Clone Wars & Rebels. (Not sure if also in Bad Batch since I have only seen S1.)
  • Droid had me rolling at times.
Honestly, after the mess that Actolyte was, this could be a fun show.

No Whammies!!
I HATED the first episode. What bothered me is that there's no good REASON why everything looked just like ET, Goonies, The Explorers, etc. Also, everything was just stupidly lazy and convenient. So...the hidden spaceship just happened to be in a hole in the ground on the way home from school....and this highly advanced civilization just never saw it even though it is INSIDE their community? At least the Goonies had to figure out how to read a treasure map...this show's writing was JUST SO LAZY. Nothing more than an excuse to "appeal to parents for nostalgia", and appeal to kids not sophisticated to look for any kind of logic.

For some reason I didn't mind the 2nd episode. It got me interested enough to try to figure out the big "mystery" of why (and how long) this little civilization was cut off from the rest of the Star Wars galaxy. (I'm leaning towards that they are unwitting slaves to the droids after an AI revolt).

I think as long as they stay away from the "80's America Stereotypical Suburb" planet I think I'll be able to tolerate it.
