It had a lot of heart and as a family-friendly entry, it did its thing. Much of modern Star Wars lacks what made the OT good and appealing. I do think Mando S1 had that feeling, but everything after S2 was just a mess.

Andor is the exception where Star Wars really has never been a well-written series with outstanding world building. The biggest appeal has been about the characters. People adore Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, etc. and what they go through in the trilogy.
Andor was almost too good for starwars. Most of the fans just want mindless fun. Not HBO's The Wire set in star wars. So it went unwatched and unappreciated by way too many people.

first two episodes were pretty fukkin boring. that's a big litmus test for a lot of shows. people bail. so many shows start with 2 boring episodes, it's weird. ya know how many shows i've been told "stick with it, it gets so good?" come out the gate swinging...

i'll go back eventually, maybe, but the first 2 episodes did nothing for me, not to mention i didn't care about him. he was the least interesting guy in that Rogue One crew by a mile. i also don't love Rogue One, think it was pointless, and already know this character's outcome, so i always thought it was a weird ass idea.

but everyone sucks it off, so they can't be wrong. i'll go back at some point, maybe... possibly.

I mean people are acting like Andor started off strong. It grew off word of mouth and people still think the budget is too high for what they are getting in revenue so it’s technically still a flop.

Star Wars had a beginning middle and end. The prequel and the sequel did(quality vary)too.

im just not sure people are really that interested in Star Wars in long form live action vs movies.

The Mandalorian was the first and just got the benefit of hype and being good. The shine quickly wore off though.
