I don't think Tarkin ruled over Vader absolutely, he was just in control of the Death Star and Vader respected that. Remember Tarkin/Anakin go back to the Clone Wars.

If Vader felt that Tarkin was overstepping I'm pretty sure he would throw him in the bushes, even when he stopped choking the other cac Vader was quite casual "as you wish :mjlol:", he was just having fun out there.

I see it was Tarkin being the Iovine and Vader on some Suge Knight shyt - yeah Iovine owns the label (Death Star) and Suge respected that because it brought in the money, but Suge had power on another level.

It's also comparable to BANE in the last Batman movie, when that rich cac starts cussing at him and Bane just puts his hand on his shoulder.

Rich dude: "....I gave you a fortune :mjcry:"

Bane: "And you think that gives you power over me?"

He did bring balance to the force :mjpls:

He didn't. Not to spoil, but that statement really made no sense to me until I read something on Wookieepedia that I'm guessing even 95% of Star Wars fans may not even understand or may have missed. If you haven't seen Clone Wars, pay particular attention to some events in Season 3. I kind of dismissed it as some far out adventures, but according to Wookieepedia, it was the seminal event in that(bringing balance to the force) regard. Perhaps the seminal event in all of the Star Wars as we know it, and they kind of glossed over it in the middle of a Cartoon Network series with some random strangeness. My gf asked me, where did the force come from the other day and I thought of this story arc, so I read up on it............................................................ :dahell:, really? Should have made that a part of the movies.

My phone made me lose the quote but Anakin did fulfill the prophecy and balanced the Force when he turned on Palpatine in ROTJ. The same emotion that turned him dark made him choose his son over the Emperor...love.

Qui-Gonn (who believed in the Living Force) was right about him.

Balance was never achieved, which I think may be part of the plot in Episode VII. I think this is the true mess up from a story telling POV of the prequels. They make a big deal about that prophesy but don't really say what it means or how far that extends. Clone Wars had to clean that up for them.

Y'all are wrong. And I don't mean that to be a dikkhead statement. I'm sure y'all know infinitely more than more me.......

But see George Lucas word should be golden cause it is HIS story and creation

Many fans incorrectly assume that balance refers to an equal mix of both light and dark side users. However, as George Lucas explains in the introductory documentary for the VHS version A New Hope, Special Edition, this is not the case:

"[...] Which brings us up to the films 4, 5, and 6, in which Anakin's offspring redeem him and allow him to fulfill the prophecy where he brings balance to the Force by doing away with the Sith and getting rid of evil in the universe..."

In an interview, Lucas compared the difference between the light and dark sides as being like the difference between a symbiotic relationship and a cancer. A symbiotic relationship is one which benefits both parties and in which neither is harmed, whereas a cancer takes without giving back, eventually causing the death of both parties

This is kind of what I meant balance wasn't necessarily 10,000 Jedi and 10,000 Sith but a balance in which Force sensitive people are in touch with all aspects of the Force, both its rational, straight-line properties and the emotional, intuitive side. Anakin's redemption showed that you need both, hence why Jedi after Episode 6 are allowed to marry and have children

Lucas and his own saga are at odds. Don't go to the link if you haven't seen Clone Wars, which is official. I thought the same as you guys until I started reading this last week and had to go back and watch a few eps.

not entirely. other people have contributed to the story and the characters a great deal.

also not everything was planned. for example leia was not meant to be luke's sister. that was just something he shoehorned into ROTJ once he decided he didn't wanna make any more star wars movies. so the prequels wouldn't be the first time lucas retconned the story.

that whole balance thing is nonsense imo. you can't get rid of evil in the universe. good cannot exist without evil and light cannot exist without dark. anakin was seduced by the devil and couldn't see the light until his son showed him the way. luke is the hero and the chosen one, not anakin.

I think that's what happens when you write a story. Then try to answer and navigate through a prequel decades later. But also have 200 other books and stories coming under your banner

Really his story was 1-6. To my knowledge he didn't even write 7 nor have any parts in all the books/comics

Right, but Clone Wars is official. The happenings are official and were written and produced under Lucas's watch unlike those books. I liked that arc the first time I watched it but just didn't think about it much. It made me go back and watch Yoda's journey to immortality as well. If anything those episodes brought back the mysticism to that universe and the feeling that things were bigger than just the main happenings.
