Episode III should've been split up into 3 movies, and that could've been the entire trilogy right there. As it is now, we got two movies that are basically nothing but filler and then all the really important stuff got crammed into the last one. Nothing much happens in Episodes I and II that we really need to see. But so much important stuff happens in Episode III that there's not enough time to develop everything. The prequel trilogy should've took place entirely during the Clone Wars. The movies only showed us the very beginning and the very end of the War. And that's what most people wanted to see!

you are right in the sense that the prequels could have covered more ground but honestly i am not even sure if they needed to make the prequels at all. this was a story that did not need to be told. it was backstory.

also, and this is really the most offensive thing about them, they undermine the OT. ignore all the plot and character inconsistencies... the OT doesn't pack nearly as much of a punch if you watch them after the PT. we experience that story through the eyes of luke, and as he learns so do we. but if we go into those movies knowing everything before luke does, then it becomes redundant and unnecessary. especially if we already know that darth vader is anakin skywalker. to me it is important he remain faceless until the very end.

Gotta agree with this. That impact Empire has is pretty much gone.

You go from (pre prequels) to (post prequels) cause you already know that shyt.

What I always found funny was the prophecy talks about someone bringing balance to the force but the Jedi was basically the dominant majority. They was running shyt
you only had a few Sith hiding in the shadows and as far as the Jedi were concerned the Sith didnt even exist anymore. So Qui Gon dumbass basically brought about the destruction of the Jedi to
fullfill a thousands years old prophecy that said the chosen one would destroy the Jedi order and bring balance to the force I mean after Order 66 you basically had 2 Sith and 2 Jedi of basically equal skill/power in the Force, Obi Won and Yoda vs Sidious and Vader.

Qui Gon in the end was not only a huge piece of shyt but the true villian of the entire series.

Word! Shyt was peaceful and pretty in episode 1. He basically scouted the mvp for the other team

There are beings that actually balance the force. Actual manifestations of dark and light. They are an older, transcended race that is basically immortal. Other members of their race are important later in the series as well. Basically thought of as Gods by some. Just look up The Father, The Son and the Daughter or The Fanged God. The prophecy actually has to do with Anakin in this regard and how he was created by Plageus. You could take this as he was allowed to be created by an imbalance so that he could rebalance. He declined not understanding the significance even though he passed a test showing he had the Force power of a transcendent being.

I watched these eps a few years back and thought nothing of it, but wow, wonder how powerful they are in the hierarchy of force power. Remembered them when my GF asked about where the force comes from, and looked up which episodes and just got kind of lost reading about those characters. Shocked to find it so important and if anything more detailed than the explanation Lucas gives. So basically Anakin's selfishness again does the galaxy in.

another dumb thing about the prequels... palpatine and sideous being the same person.

someone that evil and that powerful would have been sniffed out by the jedi in a heartbeat. you're telling me yoda stood next to the devil himself and was completely unaware of it the entire time? i find that impossible. if sideous is strong enough to conceal himself from the entire jedi order then yoda would have been killed in an instant. and lol how does the leader of the galactic republic find the time to lead a double life as a creepy dark wizard without alerting a single person?

it is never revealed in the OT how the emperor rose to power but i imagine it's not unlike the corporate takeover of our own government. that's how the emperor (the devil) works... through temptation and seduction. he probably infiltrated the system like a virus by bribing high ranking officials.

senator palpatine's role in the PT should have been given to tarkin. he should have been the corrupt politician the emperor was manipulating from behind the scenes.

Well this part was originally in Lucus' rough draft of Star Wars, albeit in an altered version. But the strange thing is that Palpatine isn't describe as a necessarily evil person. He's initially portrayed as a puppet character.

Topher's copy never surfaced as far as I know... HOWEVER when people heard that Topher had done this many did the same with the movie. Here's a version of the re-edited prequels into one that I found on youtube.... there are other edits and copies on youtube but you will have to search that for yourself.
