I just realized I never canceled Paramount+ from the Prime Day deal. :snoop:

Might as well get caught up on Discovery since I still have it. I haven't watched since midway through season two.

This show literally has movie level CGI and directing.

And this first episode of season 4 feels like this show is finally finding its footing With all of the resources CBS can throw at this show, it better deliver.

Tilley been eating real good off them Discovery replicators
She gon end up challenging Scotty for the most weight gain while playing a Trek character, but it took him like 15 years to go out like that.

Pretty shyt I thought. Only good bit was Archer Station and the cliff-hanger. Burnham remains the worst, most annoying and overacted character in the franchise.

nah i wouldn’t say that.

this show has the best visuals of any Trek show and the movies outside of the Abrams bullshyt movies. And even then it’s on par with the Abrams flicks.

but Star Trek has to leave the era from TOS and TNG alone trying to insert shows a little before these eras (discovery, enterprise) doesn’t work well and then you have to suspend logic when it’s apparent that anything after TOS will look far superior on screen.

I’m already kinda iffy on this Pike show but who knows.

But Discover didn’t need to be 900 years in the future to work. 200-300 years would’ve been fine. Build a “new” timeline outside of the other shows and make it believe able while not relying on Spock and Kirk. It’s crazy that Lower Decks nails it and slots right in during the TNG era effortlessly.

I’m rooting for Burnham and the crew but she needs to kill it this season.

OK I like the new trek shows but the planet being destroyed at the end of the episode annoyed the hell out of me :martin:

The doom and goom of this show is starting to be insufferable :francis:

Everything else about the episode was great, but these disasters on this show is getting annoying, first "the burn" blew up damn near every ship in the Apala Quadrant and now entire planets are being blown up. The entire Discovery crew is gonna need therapy by the time this show is over.

Also, is the Tilly actress pregnant or she is just :flabbynsick: ? When they first showed her full body shot I thought the tilly character got preggo on the show between seasons, but I guess not.

The opening sequence was the highlight of the episode, I loved the banter between Michael and Book while getting chased/shot at.

I prefer the natural phenomena destroying life to the big baddie, especially on this show where they haven't really created an effective human villain to date. The Burn was perfectly fine until the explanation for it was revealed.

Even though I like the recent episode, I did think the explanation for why they hadn't noticed the phenomena before was weak.

I thought they were gonna explore the dynamic between the Federation and Emerald Chain (ie. socialism/communism vs capitalism). Instead, a big ass eye is gonna around destroying planets. Now Book is the new Spock. :francis:

I thought Tilly was Burnham's Number One. Saru swooped in and Tilly didn't say a thing.

Aside from all that, this season is easily the most like Star Trek. Burnham as captain is very good so far. :ehh:

I think Saru is more Spock. Tilly is Data. Stamets is Geordi.
