It's a damn shame they had all of those Klingon references/appearances in the previous film AND Idris Elba, and yet still decided not to use Klingons.

Idris Elba as a Klingon writes itself.

thing is we've seen 2 flicks already and the cast didn't have the magic GOTG had in neither

That's true, but I can see why the studio might want to give the latest film a more 'fun' element' to possibly attract a bigger audience. Especially compared to the tone of the last film.
