Does cardio workout such as HIIT make you lose the gains from weight lifting?

Because if it does then Im probably wont do it and continue with my no-cardio/strict weight lifting workout regime.

No. If you look at the bodies of elite sprinters vs. elite marathoners, you can see the difference.

no- the reason why marathon runners have low muscle development is because they don't incorporate weightlifting or little weightlifting

you can run any distance and as long as you incorporate a weight lifting program to match the intensity

I run long distances, but I haven't lost much muscle, if any, because I also weightlift. Look at triathletes; they run long distances, but they also strength train, and they are pretty buff.

I think Im gonna give that HIIT workout a try.

Start off with doing it once a week and see how it goes.

If I think Im losing my precious gains because of it then I might have to cut it out

keep weightlifting and more importantly make sure you keep your protein intake up and you wont lose muscle from cardio
