sprint intervals: sprint the fastest you can for like 20-30 secs then jog for 1 min or 2 then sprint again. keep doing that till you feel like you about to pass the fukk out (believe me you will) and try to build up the number of intervals and tweak the time between intervals over time. you'll be cut and you heart would be strong as shyt.

It's conventional wisdom, but depending on the variables, it can vary, so it's not a fact:

You go out and try to run 3 miles as fast as you can, then afterwards ask yourself if you would have burned the same amount if you walked it.:stopitslime:

Then try em both on a treadmill and see the caloric readout difference, it'll be huge.

Definition comes from muscular exercise, not aerobic :why: And yes, depending on the variables, I was wrong, you can technically burn more calories running one mile than walking one mile, but that wasn't the main point of my post. You will burn more calories jogging 3-5 miles every day than doing continuous 400m sprints. The longer you maintain a high heart rate, the more you will burn.

Just stop. Your other post was complete BS and this one isn't much better. Sprinting is much more intensive and you are burning a higher amount of calories in a shorter period of time. But here's the thing: jogging only gives you a workout while you are doing it. Intensive sprinting keeps working after the workout is done.

I've done sprinting and for steady state cardio I do cycling. I've lost 40lbs and diet by far is the most important aspect of losing fat.

Abs are made in the kitchen.

this is the most stupid post in the thread....

I do boxing which requires lots of roadwork, I run about 7km about 5 times a week....

Boxers don't push weights heavy, in fact a lot of old school trainers frown upon even doing light weights.... The most effective way of burning fat is through cardio...

Running is your best bet.....boxers and swimmers don't really push weights and they have lean muscle mass....

I see guys that push weights in the gym religiously but can't run half a mile
By all means push weights if you want muscle mass but for best results have an intense cardio program.....that way you will look good and actually be fit at the same time

/thread. ^^^Eating right and cardio is what it's all about, as much as if not more than weightlifting/bodyweight exercises . Whether you sprint it, jog it, or walk it, that distance is what counts, nemesis got it right, doing 7km a day is gonna start knocking off fat real quick from everywhere. Also, a main thing to note is don't focus on spot reduction, focus on eating healthy and exercise, the rest will take care of it itself. For some people it's the belly, others have chicken wings, others have thunder thighs, but it's all the same principle. LIFO (last in first out) and FILO (first in last out) are the two principles you need to remember when dealing with fat, wherever you starting getting fat first is the last that will go, because that is where your body's reserves are. So until you get to the level where your body starts burning the reserve/survival fat, that belly may not go away, so don't focus on immediate results, go from 1K to 2K, 2K to 4K, 4K to 6K over a 3-4 month period. Then combine that with good eating. Plenty of vegetables, plenty of lean meat, low sugar, low salt diet. By April you will look and feel like a new man, by next December you will feel and look like a god :myman:

Which burns more calories, walking or running? - CNN.com

A) F*ck you

B) Sprinters are muscular because they need explosiveness. It's a different kind of body that runs a 10.3 than a 12.5. They hit the weights a lot. Long distance runners can't be that heavy or built because their 1) their weight will slow them down 2) they're going to have less endurance over time with more muscle mass due to the energy their body will need to maintain the same constant pace

^^^This is the dude that won the last ironman competition. No, he's not as built as an Usain Bolt, but he's not flabby

you use CNN as a source:dead:

and use Marathon runners as a validation point:merchant:

Its shocking that in this day and age people still try to spot reduce :what:

Not really...there's a lot of fat people out there breh, plus it's the holiday season, when many get the fleeting motivation to do something about it...yet they still try to cut corners.:yeshrug:

The answer is, and has always been diet and exercise. Just do it.
