The vision for black youth about the game industry is similar to the music or entertainment industry. We love to play and consume it, but typically aren't presented with the thought that you can be a part of developing or managing it.

We have influence and play the games, yet here we are with such low representation in the industry. I feel like the behind the scenes aspect of producing a game or anything for that matter isn't visible enough to some people so they don't even think about it being a possibility.

...and it starts with our education and school system, and how it's limiting kids potential outlook on life simply based off of their zipcode

I seen 3 there is one bro peaking in the back cut hella lowkey.

It's happening but just not in huge major scale because tbh blacks got way much more to worry about though I would love too see more family in the business pick up traction our kind of creativity can really reinvent everything toa classic level

When i was in highschool my dream was to become one of the people who makes video games, but i for the life of me couldn't figure out how to go about it. I finally went to college for computer science, but that still had nothing to do with gaming so i eventually gave up on it and became an accountant.

this reminds me of when I applied for video game school. I talked with the guy in charge and how he needed more people. the conversations went ok. I basically told him flat out I wanted to make my own development company someday.
He was like that's great but that's not what this school is about.
at the end of the day, you need a lot of capital to make these games and cac privllege is what's getting that capital.
I remember listening to the Tim Ferris Show and this guy was talking about how he knew the creator of steam. the guy gave him one million dollars no questions asked to start his dumb cooking company.
