They have a better system over there, all British actors come over here and take rolesSpike and Samuel are 100 percent correct. Us ADOS Americans don’t go to the UK and steal their roles.
Good shyt spike.
Black Americans are the only ones that should be telling Black American stories like in Get Out, which is what Samuel L. Jackson was referring to when he made his comments.
That would make them first gen, bloodclart eydiat
IF THEY HAVE 2 JAMAICAN PARENTS
YOURE LYING THROUGHT YOUR TEETH.
I always hated hearing the whole "Black Americans aren't classically trained so They can't do Black American better we can". Listen to how insane that sounds? It Never made any sense at all. I also hate the "Black American Accents are easy". Which isn't true and minimizes our distinct dialects in different regions. A Black New Yorker doesn't sound like a Black Person from the South. Remember this isn't about a Black Brit being in any type of role. The drama comes from authentic Black American Story type of roles (Selma, Harriet Tubman etc). "Get Out" wasn't a historical film but a horror but the actually theme was about Black American Racism specifically. That's all Sam was getting at. It's clear by that clip that Spike is siding with Sam's POV and using the David H article to have a commentary on the subject.
THESE ARE AMERICAN MOVIES.
ARE YOU DENSE?
This is what baffles me, they think people in britain are not decendents of slavesThis thread is terrible. As a British black man of Jamaican & Nigerian descent, I find this whole diaspora divide extremely dumb. You think a racist white person (American or otherwise) gives a shyt where I was born when they wanna call me a ******?
As already highlighted, a lot of British black actors come to America for opportunities because the roles that are available are typically shyt unless you’ve got pull like Idris or Lennie James.
And this ADOS stuff needs to stop. If you’re of Caribbean descent, you’re a descendant of a slave, if you’re of African descent, you possibly could be a descendant of slaves. There were plenty of black slaves in the U.K. and they faced the same shyt that happened it America and black people as a whole have only been “welcome” in the U.K. since the 50’s after Windrush. The oppression olympics shyt is boring.

Exactly!!!!It’s weird that people still don’t understand that slavery wasn’t exclusive to America. The entire Caribbean is a collection of countries consisting of slaves and runaways. Freetown in Sierra Leone was a City for free slaves that came from America and the Caribbean. Are people from Freetown not qualified to come to America and be actors just because they were born and raised in an African country?
