any "dumb" white character was canceled out by Dr.King who was the smartest character in the movie

depends how you define intelligence. king lost a lot of points by losing his cool at the end and almost blowing the whole thing due to ego. and he didnt just sacrifice himself and the mission, he sacrificed django and hilda and their well-being, which is the ultimate violation. you can sacrifice yourself if you wish, but you never needlessly sacrifice others, especially without their consent. his selfish antics could have left django nutless and hilda in the hotbox gettin ran through by mandigos until she was 60.

some people (like me) could see that as a lack of intelligence on king's part.

luckily django possessed the physical ability and the intelligence to outsmart those dumb crackas and get his queen back regardless of the german's mistake :shaq:

it dont matter who smart/dumb, strong/weak cuz at the end of the movie white people were still in power

which was the moral of the story

Like I said, quote me then man. Don't just accuse me of contradicting myself, quote me saying the things that you are accusing me of saying.

i did quote you directly and i put links to your post

I never said that it was wrong to sell the dolls, I said that it was racist and an example of how the movie is exploiting slavery. Right or wrong is not for me to judge though. I'm not God, I'll let God do the judging. Yes, the selling of the slave dolls is a moral issue but whites have always proven themselves to be immoral when it comes to race.

wait what??? so selling the dolls is racist and exploiting slavery but its not your place to judge

so then why are you judging white people, who are you to say they are wrong? why dont you let God judge white people and their apparent immorality?

This is why I scoff at blacks who are sucking QT off like he is to celebrated or championed for making this movie. I don't have "beef" with QT or his movie, I have beef with socalled blacks like you who feel the need to swoop in and defend your masters from the truth. None of this surprises me. I called this with my eyes closed. I knew that this was a movie that exploited slavery before I saw it. The posts I have in the Django thread in the Arcadium forum serve as proof. Any movie about slavery that entertains white people is a "c00n" or sellout flick, point blank period. A movie that illustrated a trie no holds barred look at slvery would not entertain whites. Whites aren't even capable of having a true honey discussion concerning race relations in the present day, let alone own up to what they truly did to out people in the past. Django is yet another diversion from reality regarding race in this country. QT exploited slavery for a buck. You can cloud the issue by bringing up other shyt all you want, but you can't argue against what I just said.

if QT exploited slavery for a buck, who are you to say thats right or wrong, why dont you let God judge that

i dont remember defending "my massa" from the truth, what i said is that django was a good movie but that it was exploiting slavery and i didnt like the dolls and i pointed out how qt uses the word ****** to entertain white people

how is that defending QT?

maybe you got mad that i associated it with the use of nikka in rap music to entertain white people, but like you said why dont you let god be the judge, dont judge me, you arent god

you dont think you can judge your massa selling slave dolls but you think you can judge another black person expressing their opinion?

As far as what I said about the music industry, once again you're twisting my words. I didn't say that the music industry is color blind. I said that exploitation within that industry isn't just about race. Everybody gets exploited in the music industry, not just blacks. Blacks even exploit other blacks regularly.

that doesnt make any sense, you are saying that exploitation in the music industry and and student athletics has nothing to do with race

but then you say the music industry is not color blind? but what about the industry make you think its not color blind, since the exploitation part is color blind where do you see racism in the music industry?

The main point was that exploitation within te music industry is a different conversation than this we are having about Django.

sure it can be a different conversation if you want it to be, its totally legit to analyze django in a vacuum and not consider the parallels to it in the music industry and in other areas, you and your crew can go ahead with that and i have profusely apologized for bringing other subjects and derailing the thread,

we just simply have to go our separate ways because i sure as hell think they are all tied together and i am most def "clouding the issue" by putting django in the larger context of corporate american entertainment

i just thought about this right now, but another connection between django and nikkas in paris is that if you really think about it, nikkas in paris is the same sentiment and concept that is displayed in the running joke in the movie about a "****** on a horse"

in other words kanye and jay-z. when they say "nikkas in paris" they are actually bragging about being "nikkas on horses", they are basking in the glory of being a ****** on a horse, or black people that cant be treated like the other black people

just a deep thought that i had now, but dont mind me, i dont want to derail the thread

Point out where I've said "white people are wrong" in any of my posts you lying piece of shyt. Having an opinion on what people do, and telling people what they should or shouldn't do are 2 totally different things. It's like being pro-life in your personal life but pro-choice politically. You're so simple and stupid that it's useless engaging you. Miss me with your lies and childish little games, that's all you're good for.

wait what? so you think white people are immoral but you dont think its your place to say whether white people are right or wrong so you will leave that up to God?

so God is the ultimate judge of django and the slave dolls? not us lowly humans?

I have to disagree with this. I interpret the song to be more of a jab at those in society who feel they shouldn't enjoy the type of lifestyle they are privy to.

:manny: that's a valid interpretation also

but in either case, saying nikka in a horse or nikkas in paris is more titillating and entertaining than saying black man on a horse or black man in paris, that is why they are used

1st why single out myself and Gravity as if we were the only people who didn't "LOVE" the movie. There were plenty of people in this thread and the Django movie thread that didn't feel the flim was all that. Also I heard this interview and Mr Gregory is entitled to his opinion just like Spike is. Louis Gosset Jr. agreed with Spike that the movie was a mockery but I guess people forgot about that post. The point is this, 100% of Black America isn't going to agree with this movie and what it seems to me is the ones that liked it are doing everything to try and discredit the opinions of those that don't. What invested interest does one have in defending "Django" like some people have? You can enjoy a movie and understand why someone may not. It's like those that liked it can't understand why someone didn't like it the same as them. LOL.

That's what it comes down to.

I'm not robbing anyone of their like for the movie. I just thought it was cliche, too drawn out and is the same song and dance like QT other films. But dudes want to continuously disarm a niqqa from seeing it in a poor light they may see it in....even to the point they want to accuse you of not watching the film, or put what you may feel is a better film of that genre, in the same bucket.

:heh:

I'm sorry, but the investment the movie put into Dr. King's character bearing "current day" inner white turmoil in regards to race was type corny, expected and for the film to be created, a necessary component.

I personally find that quality as a turn off.

I'm certain Branch Rickey's character in the film "42" will be wearing the same outfit as Dr. King's character.

The problem is people like you aren't just saying you didn't like the movie from an entertainment standpoint. Some people are saying the movie was disrespectful and exploitative. People are calling QT racist and the black actors sheep for playing along. And claiming that the movie takes us back as a community. That goes beyond saying if you liked the movie or not, and that is what the debate has been about, not the quality of the movie.
