I hope to god nikkas aren't talking about logic in a film series that once featured a plot to wipe out the entire human race via nerv gas launched from a space station, and then the world repopulated with a genetic manufactured superior race.
Yeah.. I feel like some of you cats are going completely overboard with trying to logic a fukking hyper action spy film...complaining about defying the laws of physics? :beli: we're also so used to a film being ALL about the villain, when in reality this movie was all about Bond and the villain and circumstances going on around him are only to reveal his character and motivations. While yes, this certainly makes the villain in some ways, a let down, which why I said it is a valid criticism of the movie. My point is none of Skyfall's problems are big enough to make it an overall bad movie. You can say you didn't enjoy it on the same level as something like Casino Royale, but to call it an overall corny movie is a little ridiculous.

Word that's how I feel. If it doesn't work for you cool if you don't like it cool but corny?? Most of what I'm hearing compliant wise are about it being too earnest so it can't be both

I actually agree with @TheGodling about skyfall. It just wasnt an excited movie, it was super bland compared to the other two flicks imo. It had one of the dopest visual scenes of the 3 most definitely but after that it was just kind of a bore and even javier character was just alright to me. This new one tho looks to be what i've wanted for awhile now, a villain that bond can actually fight at the end. This bond is way too physical for these psychological only villains that he's been going against. The addition of batista will be a nice change of pace from what i've seen in bond films and finally a big bad that bond can use the fisticuffs on and not just shoot. Well at least thats what i hope, they could always have him just shoot batista in the movie which will be a letdown like when they did that shyt in the equalizer

:deadrose: so we got that..we got the pigeon double take..in multiple movies..we got roger moore riding a gondola through the streets of venice..we got a villain turning into a balloon and we got a car that pulled an evil knievel in the man with the golden gun. that's cool though breh

lol, there's tons of terrible shyt in the Bond movies (and tons of terrible Bond movies) but at least the fukkery is entertaining, something that Skyfall will never be. :manny:

  • Casino Royale was fresh, the interrogation scene had the funniest moment, i loved the overall elegance and lavish atmosphere. The dialogue was great and Craig personified manhood and ruthless duty to queen and country. It's one of my top 5 movies of all time. I regret not seeing it in theaters.
  • Quantum of Solace came out 2 years later and I was surprised when I found out later on that people didn't like it as much. It didn't have as many different tones to it as Casino Royale did, there weren't laugh out loud moments and the cinematography didn't focus on elegant locations, so for people expecting an expanded version of Casino Royale I can understand why it was a letdown. I like when films in a franchise retain the spirit of the preceding flick, but I love when they're stylstically different in tone as well. So I loved Quantum of Solace, I'm not really a fan of comparing things against others, i'd rather judge them in of themselves. I loved the bleak feel of the film, the dialogue between Bond and M in the beginning about Vesper, the dialogue between Bond and Mathis at Mathis' villa, on the plane, and before his death, and the somber end with the algerian love knot in the snow. It reminded me of golden eye. The videogame on N64 moreso than the movie cause i have more memories with that. 2008 overall was a good year for movies for me, with the dark knight, iron man, incredible hulk, the wackness, stepbrothers, taken, pineapple express, and this, cause as a broke breh I don't check for flicks like that so it ties me to that year as well. Also I remember the writer's strike going on at the time but I never connected it to this film cause I wasn't following production, so maybe my opinion not being colored by that is a factor. Also the themesong felt like they were trying too hard to be edgy(which kinda reflects the movie overall now that i think about it) whereas Casino Royale's felt perfect for a reintroduction and perfect overall.
  • Skyfall was being hyped to high heavens before it came out... the first of the flicks I went to the theater for. Cinematography is perfect, dialogue is alright, but overall i expected more than I got. Bardem's villain felt like a ripoff of the joker with the whole "I got everything planned out" shyt. Joker isn't the originator of that archetype but it was too influenced by the dark knight and that took me out of the movie. And the themesong was doing too much. I love it from an aesthetic point of view. I dunno, maybe I need to rewatch it, but it has the same feel iron man 2 has, things just seem to come and go, like the movie itself was just going through the motions...
  • I can't wait for Spectre. It has a dour tone which reminds me of playing Goldeneye back in 97-2000 in the best way, The overall mood seems to feel like the old bond in the same way the last scene of quantum did. I hope the dialogue brings that feeling home, but the movie has that "this is gonna be dope" feel from the last trailer to me. Wish Dame Judy Dench was still M but hey, she'd had enough, shyt she played M for almost 20 years of her life, it was time...

Definitely think you need to rewatch skyfall breh

and yeah quantum of solace isn't as bad as the rep it has. It's not great by any means but it's not bad at all, especially when compared to the true bad ones in the series..and why do you have such dour memories of playing goldeneye lol

nah it was fukkin awesome :pachaha: the pallette/tone of the film and game were drab in a good way. There's certain parts of my personality that get in a good mood when there's a gray sky/rainy day so shyt like that makes me feel good if that makes sense lmao

...like the london scene in Quantum with the rain and the grey/steel-blue pallete and the rain, i love that scene for that reason alone (I can't find a clip on youtube). Spectre has the same feel except it's golden instead of steel blue. Idk if that makes sense...
