This nikka Pierce Brosnan was fukking wakeboarding through icebergs and I'm supposed to be upset about shyt in Skyfall? :rudy:

:deadrose: so we got that..we got the pigeon double take..in multiple movies..we got roger moore riding a gondola through the streets of venice..we got a villain turning into a balloon and we got a car that pulled an evil knievel in the man with the golden gun. that's cool though breh

Let's not ignore the fact that the campy Bond stuff was scrapped with these Craig "reboot" films

Skyfall was being hyped to high heavens before it came out... the first of the flicks I went to the theater for. Cinematography is perfect, dialogue is alright, but overall i expected more than I got. Bardem's villain felt like a ripoff of the joker with the whole "I got everything planned out" shyt. Joker isn't the originator of that archetype but it was too influenced by the dark knight and that took me out of the movie.

The villain gets captured on purpose trope is a little played out, but the main problem I have with this one, is that it takes actions and timing out of his control for it work, as well as characters needing to be dumb. It's just so goddamn flimsy

I get that breh but my point is you can't complain about one but ignore another. And while it means that Silva is incredibly smart for him to be able to pull off what he pulled off there's always an aspect of the villains being a tad smarter than Bond or him being smarter overall in these movies since day one. He allows himself to be captured or they fail to kill him when they have the chance to etc. what matters is the execution. If it were any other movie would I have a problem with Dr. No serving him dinner and explaining spectre to him? Yes but because Terrence young directed it perfectly and it was in tone with the rest of the movie, I have no issue with it at all. Silva setting everything up to be captured along with the train that almost crashed into Bond so he could escape is far fetched but for me, the execution made it work and it was in line with the rest of the movie.

Heard this may be more like the novelization of on her majesty's secret service, the bullet hole in the glass is a dead giveaway

I read this on the train this morning and luckily, EW put it on their website

Skyfall took James Bond to new heights, grossing $1.1 billion worldwide to become the most successful 007 installment in history. The 2012 blockbuster killed off Bond’s boss, M (Judi Dench), and found Her Majesty’s most deadly secret servant (Daniel Craig) struggling to stay relevant in a post-spy world. But returning director Sam Mendes can only see that film in terms of unfinished business. “Bond has been rebooted at the end of the movie,” Mendes says. “This is only the beginning of the story.”

Spectre provides a kind of culmination to the three previous films while developing a backstory that’s been largely unexplored until now. “The Bond creation myth never happened,” Mendes says. “I felt there was an opportunity there: What made him? And who were the people who affected him along the way? You’re sort of telling the story backwards of how Bond became Bond.”

James Bond finally gets the origin story we've been waiting for in Spectre | EW.com

This jibes with something two guys on this james bond podcast said that I listen to (yeah, I'm a Bond geek, so what?) and they said that this has been the one franchise that has taken three movies to fully reboot itself. Starting with Casino and ending in Skyfall and now the story can really start. I'm just so damn hype for this movie

Yeah.. I feel like some of you cats are going completely overboard with trying to logic a fukking hyper action spy film...complaining about defying the laws of physics? :beli: we're also so used to a film being ALL about the villain, when in reality this movie was all about Bond and the villain and circumstances going on around him are only to reveal his character and motivations. While yes, this certainly makes the villain in some ways, a let down, which why I said it is a valid criticism of the movie. My point is none of Skyfall's problems are big enough to make it an overall bad movie. You can say you didn't enjoy it on the same level as something like Casino Royale, but to call it an overall corny movie is a little ridiculous.
this is why people whine about MCU flicks. They want villain mega-fukkery.
